Absolutely spot on place a few steps away from T5 Heathrow, ideal either for a little peace and quiet in between flights or a business lunch. Very good service accompanied by excellent food. In my visit I had a great beetroot and cheese carpaccio, followed by a filet mignon which was beautifully executed being tender and still moist and for dessert a pistachios and wild cherries mousse which was historic and left you wanting more! The wine list is comprehensive but on the expensive side, well, all in all this place isn’t cheap as for a three course dinner with wine you have to put aside around £50/60 per person at least, a la carte of course. I liked the modern ambience, light and airy with lots of daylight and well spaced and extremely comfortable seating areas. I would definitely go to the Brasserie Roux again and recommend it. PS) two of my fellow diners were French and they heaped praises on the food, so it must have been good even by native standards!

We had an awful dinner at Brasserie Roux although it is nicely appointed. –The service sucked. It took 15 min for someone to take our order. Then the whole night we were actively flagging down waiters. –We found an insect with mandibiles in our artichoke. –We were both sick after our meal. –Strangely, I was told not to order the shrimp cocktail without the sauce because it would have no taste. I guess their shrimp are tasteless? However, the gazpacho was tasty as well as the offal kebabs(although the latter was not sufficiently cooked).

A Roux Brothers restaurant in an airport hotel is unexpected, but the Brasserie Roux in the new Sofitel attached to Terminal 5 is modern and comfortable with excellent friendly service and good food. I just had time for one course — quenelle de brochet — which was delicious. And the bread basket was a meal in itself; and the whole cost only £11. And when did you last see pike on a menu anywhere?
