This is the Indian buffet of my dreams. I literally went back to the US and my old go-to’s did not compare. The hotel down the street recommended I try it, and during my last work trip, I saw that the place was bumping, so I finally went for it. It’s got something for everyone. If you’ve wanted to try out different Indian dishes, this is the place to do it. Huge fan of the Garlic cheese naan and Chicken Tikka Masala, and I am confident this is going to be my last meal on Earth.

We stopped here for lunch driving back from Aberdeen to Glasgow and were pleasantly surprised by the amazingly fresh and authentic Indian food. The service was also outstanding and the place was nice and clean. This was one of the best meals we had on our trip.

We love Taza Indian Buffet. We’ve been several times over the past few months, and each is just as great as the last. Friends who live in Dundee recommended it to us and we recommend it to you! The buffet is stocked with a large variety of dishes — something for everyone. There are usually 3 types of naan, a few different styles of rice, and even some of the standard Scottish staples like chips(fries with everything here!) What do we love the most? They serve SPICY food! We love that our mouth is burning by the end of the meal. Now, of course, they have all levels — most of the dishes are sans spice — so if you’re not into it just look at the labels above each dish and you’ll be safe. They also have a little dessert buffet with ice cream, cakes, pies, banana fritters, and rice pudding. Their cakes are pretty flavorless — but that’s not enough of a mark against them to give them one less star. There are always people here eating, even Indian folks, which is always a good sign. Oh, and like the other reviewer said — the decoration is a bit… tacky, but don’t let that stop you. It’s the food that matters.

It’s unusual to find an Indian buffet restaurant. This one is good, attentive staff. Good selection of food for around £15 per person. I am vegetarian and I liked that the dishes were all labeled and had a V on the ones that I could eat. The food is tasty, hot and well stocked. The décor is a bit confused, it looks a bit like an American diner with flamingo pink leatherette seats and purple walls with a bit of chrome thrown in. The toilets are also a bit of a mystery as the automatic lights on a sensor go off after a few minutes and my wee niece was plunged into darkness! Fully stocked bar, easy parking and a nice view over the city quay. Worth a visit if you are in the area. I love a good deal /voucher /discount and the Taza is in the Dundee Spree book so my niece and nephew both ate for free as there were paying adults.

I go to Taza most Sunday afternoons with my family, we are always very impressed with the great choices, the fantastic value for money, the lovely tasting fresh food, and the very helpful, pleasant, and nothing too much trouble staff. There korma is to die for, as is their soup, the best I have ever tasted, they also have a selection of food for kids smillie face potatoes etc, the dessert range is great with something to suit all tastes, the restaurant is spacious, clean and very comfy with a lovely view. I have tried several buffett type meals, but Taza would be very hard to beat. A highly recommended buffet style restaurant, Elaine Dundee

£13.99 !!! I was happy to try Taza as the view across the harbour is beautiful and I thought it would be better than average at the price was a whopping £13.99 for a buffet. The price would have been acceptable if the food had been average however everything tasted the same and best described as gloop. The food is not as authentic which is not a problem but it must at least taste of something !!! I also have to admit that the staff are not nice, the manger seemed good but the young male waiter seemed 100% disinterested and it felt like we were a nuisance. In short I think its way overpriced as I would not spend a penny on something that simply has no taste.

Buffet restaurants are generally a great idea and normally represent good value for money. Not this one though on the evening we visited. We thought the food no better than a typical supermarket low-priced ‘takeaway’ and yet at £13.99 per head at the weekend, the price is higher than most other more traditional Indian restaurants in the area. Mid-week with lower prices is probably a better option, however, we were very disappointed with our weekend experience! Taza did win my prize, however, for the smallest dessert portions I have ever experinced anywhere in 45 years of dining out!

Taza Indian Restaurant is at the newish City Quay development in Dundee. They operate a buffet style setup but as it is one very reasonable price for three courses and as much as you can eat then it is well worth it. The food is much better than I have has at any other place similar to this, you can actually see the chef preparing and cooking the food in a huge pan just behind the buffet counter, indeed it is part of the display and makes for something to watch during lunch. There is a wide variety of choices on offer included some westerner dishes.

Personally I think the best restaurants around are those that offer buffets and this is certainly true of Taza in Dundee. This restaurant really does have something for everyone; if you love Indian food then you can get the buffet and stuff yourself. On the other had if you are not a fan of Indian food(like my sister) then you can order something from the non-Indian A La Carte menu. Everyone can be happy. Unlike some restaurants the alternative menu here is actually quite good; the chefs obviously take time to make sure they are catering for everyone. The restaurant itself if reasonably large and the prices are not that expensive, I guess this depends on what you are ordering but if you get the buffet then you are in for a winner
