Im sad to say that i have downgraded my review to 3 stars after tonights visit. On entering we were told to wait in the bar as no tables ready however the place was half empty. 10 mins later we were given a table. We chose the early evening menu and selected our drinks. 30 mins later i was told there was no rice for my main so i chose another option. 15 mins later the meals arrived yet with cheese on the burger my bf had asked for without. The meals were taken away and brought back 5 mins later. On asking for the bill i showed the discount card i had and was told i couldnt use it yet i had told the manager i had it when she seated us. Eventually i was told it was ok to be used. The food is lovely its just a shame the customer service lets the place down. On a wednesday evening waiting this length of time is not really acceptable or for orders to be wrong.

The bar side of the place isn’t to but if it’s about service and food but the restaurant side that’s totally different story it took over 30 min to get second drink and my partner found two hair on his plate it took another30 min for them to replace the meal. On this occasion restaurant not busy as it’s wednesday evening

It’s a Beefeater, so you know what to expect — but unfortunately it’s also a permanently short-staffed Beefeater, so you shouldn’t expect it very quickly. The staff are genuinely nice but there are never enough of them on duty in the restaurant, and while the food is generally good it takes a long time to arrive. It’s a shame, because a few additional staff would make an enormous difference.

It’s early Saturday evening around 6(ish) and we decide to go for dinner. So we head off to the Beefeater in Milngavie to satisfy our hunger pangs, We have been here before and the food has always hit the spot. A bit quieter than usual though so we had a choice of table location. The staff as always were ‘on the ball’ without being over bearing just the way I like it. The food is the usual steak, chicken, pasta and burgers done in various ways, we opted for the burger route, for the larger appetite you can ‘double up’ your burger for an extra £1.99, the bottomless glass of Pepsi and the bottomless fries just add a bit of extra value for a family. Finished off with some rather large deserts — good service, good food, reasonable prices — it’s popular at weekends so booking advised, we were lucky.

Straight out the box, plonk it down anywhere, replace the Scottish punters with English, Irish, Welsh punters and you have this middle of theroad«its a restaurant with a pub in it and not the other way round as the advertising would have you imagine» type place. Having eaten here a while ago after a nice wee day out at Mugdock park and not really knowing the area, me and a few mates popped in here for some grub to fill our Frisbee throwing induced empty bellies. With a standard selection of grub, decent if a little uninterested service(thats what minimum wage does for your motivation!), and slightly pricey for what it is, i suppose this place is ok for what it is. Aimed i imagine at the family friendly market or those who fancy a safe pub(read no atmosphere), i suppose this place hits all the spots for its market. I however, prefer to do a disgruntled horse impression in its general direction with a distinct nay!!!

This is part of the Beefeater chain and, like most Beefeaters, is a good place to come with the family. The food is the usual Beefeater menu and the prices are very good. There are also special set menus for early dinners, which are very good value. Considering the prices, the quality of the food is very good. There is also a great kids menu that includes a selection of organic meals. Most of the staff are very friendly and pleasant and they are very good with young children. Overall, a good place to come with the family but not for a romantic meal for two.

Having read some of the other reviews on this restaurant I was in two minds whether to add mine especially as it has been a wee while since I last ate here. However here goes. This used to be a favourite of ours for a number of reasons — the ambience, the food and the staff. Although the menu was your typical Beefeater selection we always found the standard to be a bit higher than other sites from the same chain. Service was always excellent and staff more than helpful and pleasant. Like I said it is a while since I have been so it might be worth reading other reviews to get a more recent perspective.

The pub part of the West Highland Gate is great for a quiet drink with friends. Friendly staff. However, the service in the Restaurant was terrible. We waited for 1 hour after our order for food & out waitress was downright rude. We wont be going back for food.

Been a few times and it used to be quite good. This time though nothing went right. Despite the fact that it was very quiet it took almost 45 mins to get food. We also had a dirty knife and fork which were stuck to the napkins, these were changed when when we complained. When it came time to pay their card machine wouldn’t work so we had to use their cash machine which charged us £1.50 for the privilege.(to be fair they did give us a refund). We only visited here today because of good experiences in the past. In future we shall now thick twice. It’s a shame actually as the food was quite good.
