I ate in here recently whilst at the airport as I really fancied a lasagne and this was the only place that offered it. Got seated and menu without any issues, the restaurant was clean and the service was quick and friendly. I had the lasagne, which was nice enough and an OK sized portion, and a bit of garlic bread as a side, with one soft drink — the food was fine, but it came to £25 I’m not going to lie, it wasn’t a massive issue for me as I was travelling on business therefore it wasn’t actually me paying for it, but I’d hate to be the person paying the bill for a family of four…

Very busy, but the service was still pretty quick and the staff were still polite and courteous, not rushing around and being snappy! Good food, exactly what you’d expect from the chain. Quite expensive for what you get, but it sets you up before a long flight.

We’re visiting from the States and have seen these restaurants all over London. Stopped in at the airport location. My husband ordered the omelette and it was bland but generally alright. I had a cheeseburger that I couldn’t finish. Consistency of the meat struck me as incredibly off. Very compact and processed? Not sure but I wasn’t feeling it. The fries were good and the beer was cold(how we Americans like it haha), but overall unimpressive. Service was pretty fast and they told us the time(15 minutes) in advance, but I had to account our waitress out for the check and she only checked back once. Skip it.

Overall pretty nice brunch place. I got the Garfunkel breakfast. It’s a pretty big portion. Food is above average. I also recommend the English breakfast tea. It comes in a tea pot and has two cups worth of tea. Great with milk. 1 star off because it’s slightly pricey.

We decided to have breakfast here before our 9 hour flight to the Dominican Republic. The service was very fast and efficient, from seating to ordering. The food was very tasty and filling. Great place to fuel up before flying.

Pretty rubbish really. We were here in August 2014 and had six of is. The staff were friendly. The foods airport prices so on other words a complete rip off. We ordered a variety of food from burgers to pizza. I had a tuna met(toasted tin a sandwich) and it cost about a tenner. Mediocre at best.

Very impressed! Try the cheese cake. My father and I shared a piece, it was HUGE! Well worth the £5.95 price tag. Light, fluffy and tasty.

This place has to be the best in the airport for a proper full English brekkie. I had the Full House which is seriously large plate of artery clogging goodness/badness?. I am doing intermittent fasting and yesterday was a fast day so this morning I thought I’d make up for it. This place has been here for ages and is always packed full but is run very efficiently by mainly foreign staff, most of whom seem to come from Portugal for some reason.

Took ~40 minutes to serve simple food and then they say«its because it was properly made»; and then you realize that meal is already 20 mins old.

The North Terminal is really the pits(other than World of whisky) After walking around for 30 minutes trying to find somewhere decent to eat, we finally decided on Garfunkel’s, we were seated quickly and made our order, being a burger nut I naturally went for the burger, it came out quickly enough and didn’t taste to bad, but it was grey and dry, the fries where ok, we finished up and I tried for about 10 minutes to get someone’s attention to pay our bill but had no joy, so in the end I had to go to the till and pay, they should really be aware that customers have plane’s to catch. Value for money it’s not, £11 for a mediocre burger? I don’t think so, North Terminal needs a fast food place, I would of happily had a Big Mac and for half the price. North Terminal, SORTITOUT!

What I liked 1) Its convenient 2) Inexpensive What they could improve 1) The food is pretty mediocre 2) The place is totally disorganized. You have to really be on top of the waiter to make sure you get your meal quickly, get your check early, and pay before you need to catch your flight. In fact you should pretty much ask for the bill when you place your order. 3) Foreign wait staff don’t fully understand English. It’s quite difficult to place your order accurately — especially if you want to request extras like marmalade with your toast. Unfortunately there aren’t many alternative options at Gatwick. Ordering breakfast at the pub is pretty challenging too.

Don’t come here if you need to eat fast. This restaurant has the most disorganized serving staff you will find anywhere. It’s like watching a west end farce as they throw themselves busily and pointlessly around the restaurant trying to make space for the incoming hordes, totally missing that it’s going to end in tears if they don’t actually serve some of the existing customers first. It’s like it’s a big surprise to them that they are going to be busy. On a positive note, the diner style menu has a good choice of food for all tastes, the cooking’s formulaic but edible and the portions are filling. As I sit here with apparently loads of time to fill before I get any food at all, I thought I’d pass on some top tips for dining here on your travels: 1) Don’t fly from Gatwick anyway! It’s one of the worst UK airports with a decaying infrastructure and poor service at the best of times but it easily cracks under any pressure with long lines for everything and the staff running around doing headless chicken impersonations 2) If you have to fly from Gatwick, eat before you go. You would think an airport fighting for customers in the current market would have some sort of quality control over the services it provides to its customers but, apparently, judging by the awful choice of the catering concessions(all food for Chavs) the job has apparently been given to a work experience student who goes home every night to mum’s fish fingers and oven chips and would not recognize a good meal if it had a sign on it saying«good meal». 3) If you end up in Garfunkel’s, which to be honest is actually the best of a bad bunch, make sure to ask the clown with the spinning bow tie and flappy shoes for your check when he/she eventually brings your main course or you will wait forever 4) a special tip for my friends from the USA, stop rewarding bad service! The lady traveller from California on the next table to me was almost in tears waiting for her meal yet still felt she should reward the person who brought her so much stress with a 20% tip. In Europe, we expect good service, tip for outstanding service and punish bad service 5) For the Brits of the younger, wannabe American generation who did the same, STOPIT! Anticipating the usual messages from fellow Unilocal!ers questioning my expectation of decent food at airports(you know who you are :-), it’s that attitude that has got us what we have today. The campaign continues! :-)
