Being a lover of all things with a bit of history behind them I really want to love Acqua Di Parma. If I could live anywhere at any time it would be Italy in the 1950s and Acqua Di Parma and that country at that time are practically inseparable! Acqua Di Parma is iconic and authentic; it is still produced only in Milan but is distributed around the world. The bottles are stunning and would take pride of place on anyone’s dressing table. However for me there is one glitch which I just can’t get around, I don’t like the smell of any of the fragrances! They just don’t work for me unfortunately. Despite this I can’t help but visit the Acqua Di Parma section in Frasers and look at all the lovely bottles purely because it represents that little 1950s Italian dream of mine. I was delighted to see that they now sell stunning leather travel bags which are so soft and have that gorgeous genuine leather smell off them. Maybe if I save up a tenner a week for the next 40 weeks I can buy into the history of Acqua Di Parma after all!

This is a very exclusive brand that started in 1916, worn by Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn it has had many other iconic fans. Apart from House of Frasers and John Lewis it can’t be found in anywhere else in Glasgow and the only other place it is available is Harvey Nichols stores. The most popular fragrance is Colonia which is a strong musky smell which is unisex. It’s also great for male relatives as it’s beautifully packaged and smells amazing. It is, however, very pricey and the 50ml bottle comes in at £48. If you like more flowery scents I’d recommend the Iris Noble fragrance and the most recent Magnolia Noble scent.
