SPRINGROLLS! I ABSOLUTELY love the food from Andy’s and have done so since I was teeeeeny… my family has always ordered from here! (It has to be admitted: For a whiiiile I was a weeeee bit unfaithful and tried other places(as you do!!!) I can honestly say that I’ve never found a better spring roll! And I have SO tried!) they’d be my number one recomendation! The sweet & sour is not half as vinegary as I’ve had(you know the way-it makes you pucker your lips???) well, NONE of that here… Him Indoors is alleegic to garlic and onions(uuuugh, I KNOW!!) and they take every care to ensure there’s none in his food. I had a delicious beef fried rice tonight for dinner-soooo tasty! I can’t attest to any of the vegetarian meals on the menu as I’ve never had any, but if they’re anything like the carnivore’s range then they’d be gooooooood! The wee shop is always busy, I think that’s an indication of the level of deliciousness one can experience!!! And best if all, it’s my mega expensive! I LOVEIT!

When the drunken gullet speaks, you listen! ‘Dear brain, heart, liver and other organs. I’m afraid that our carrier(a Mr Chris D) has imbibed a comfortable amount of alcohol and now requires sustenance. Far be it for me to argue with said carrier as you all know that eating is my bread and butter(I thank you!). We will therefore be heading post haste into that place on Maryhill road with the TV on the wall and the smell of chicken fat emanating from it. I apologise for any damage this may cause. Yours, Belly’ Chipssh and chicken bawsh pleasesh. It’s neither nasty or glorious. Just there and open.

You’d be forgiven for walking past Andy’s on your way up Maryhill Road. Despite its florescent signage lighting, it’s a tiny takeaway that looks like it’s been left in the late 90s. But if you did choose to ignore its luminous glory, you’d be very foolish indeed. Andy’s menu is extensive and pleasingly cheap. What’s more, the food is delicious, especially when his succulent duck offerings are on the cards. Andy’s is open pretty late even on week nights, putting it ahead of the rest of the takeaways in the area. What’s more, the staff are willing to improvise, especially when you’re a tad tispy and can’t make up your mind what you fancy munching. One night I got duck chow mein, which I’m pretty sure is an uncommon choice but I certainly polished it off. With the home delivery services and unchanging, affordable menu, Andy’s winning formula has worked for him for years, and this old-school takeaway sells the freshest Chinese food in town without any unnecessary frills. It’s my boyfriend’s new favourite place to get some scran around these parts and considering we’re regulars, it’s safe to say Andy’s is worth revisiting on a weekly basis!
