I usually prefer going to an osteopath when I have back problems as I find the process more gentle, but when my regular osteo moved out of town I discovered Dawn Blaser. Dawn is American, great fun, and a damn good chiropractor. I don’t go to her very often, but when things get really bad she can usually have me straightened out in under 15 minutes and often in just one session. She doesn’t mess about — a quick appraisal of your range of mobility, then it’s onto the table for some serious crunching. Almost before you’re even aware of what’s going on, you suddenly find that you can move much better and things don’t seem to hurt as much as when you came in. «It’s just simple bio-mechanics,» she says. She is fast, efficient, and very effective. Sadly not terribly cheap, but she is very, very good at what she does and is well worth the expense. I know she treats a lot of professional dancers and I hear nothing but praise from them about her, so that’s as good an endorsement as you’re likely to find.
