Such a tiny of Boots but they do pretty well by focussing on their main customer set here. In this case, given the location, those customers are mostly commuters. As a result they have a great stock of sandwiches, snacks and drinks and everything else is limited more or less to the basics, of which they’ve crammed in as much as they can. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing — if you’re travelling and suddenly realise you need some paracetamol, lip balm, sticking plasters or a bar of chocolate, they’ve got you covered. If you need more items, more options, more choice, there are plenty of other larger branches within the city centre. Note that this branch does also contain a pharmacy which, unlike the rest of the store, doesn’t seem to get too busy, so it’s a good place to pick up prescriptions. The only problem is that, with it being such a tiny store, it’s not very easy to move around it with luggage. I think this is kind of where they fall down; they’ve focussed on commuters for their product lines but they’ve forgotten that a lot of people using Queen Street Station will be travelling further than just to work. Anyone carrying a large bag or a suitcase will find themselves nervous about knocking things over in the narrow aisles. Aside from that this branch of Boots serves its purpose well enough. I suspect it’s absolutely packed during rush hour, but the rest of the time it’s the ideal place to pick up that item you inevitably forgot to pack, before you go and catch your train.

I’m sure you all know that Boots is many people’s first stop for beauty, pharmaceutical, «family planning», and cleansing products. You may not know however, that they do a frankly unbelievably good value lunchtime deal, where you can get a sandwich, snack and drink for £2.99. Leaving here with a smoked salmon bagel, slice of moist carrot cake, and an innocent smoothie you will feel like you’ve just got away with the great train robbery. What a barg.

I can see why this little Boots in Queen Street Station does so well for itself– it caters to the commuters. On the many occasions I’ve been in on my way to and from work I’ve bought plasters for when my shoes hurt, Strepsils for when I was coming down with a cold(damn public transport/office environment) and my lunch in Boots’ famed 3 for 1 lunch deals. They also have a small make-up section so if you’ve had a particularly long day, you can treat yourself to a lipstick(ok, that one’s just for the ladies). The little store can get quite busy but the staff are always efficient so you never have to queue long — which is important when you have a train to catch.

This is a small branch of Boots situated in Queen Street train station, making it a handy place to pick up last minute essentials before setting off on a train journey. I go there quite often as their meal deal is such good value(£2.99 for a sandwich or salad, snack and drink). There is often a long queue but the staff are exceptionally friendly and chatty and you usually get served quickly. There’s a pharmacy here too so it’s a convenient place to pick up prescriptions.

A fairly small shop located on Queen St train station. Small, compact with a good range of make up and essential items, as well as the good meal deals. Friendly staff.
