As Eleanor says, this looks VERY dodgy, and more than a little bit yuck. I’m not sure if public bikini waxes, colonic irrigations or hernia operations will be next on the list, but it’s all just a bit wrong. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just brushed your gnashers with Tippex.

There’s something weird about sitting in the middle of a shopping centre getting a set of pearly whites but if you’re looking for a grin like Simon Cowell, that’s exactly what happens at Crystal Smile in Silverburn. You can’t miss Crystal Smile as they’re plonked bang in the middle of Silverburn and stand out with their egg shaped chairs. For me, teeth whitening is something that should be done at the dentist and it just seems completely uncouth to get your teeth bleached whilst on a shopping spree, in the midst of hundreds of shoppers. When I was in Silverburn last week I was handed a flyer detailing Crystal Smiles latest offer which is a one hour bleaching treatment costing £99. They guarantee that you’re teeth won’t become sensitive as the treatment they use is free from peroxide and your teeth will become 6 – 8 shades whiter. I don’t know why, but I’m still unnerved by the whole idea…

I am never ever in Silverburn shopping centre but I found myself in here on a panic buying mission last week before my holidays and I was browsing when I noticed Crystal Smile. I have absolutely no idea what comes over the people who come to this, essentially, chair and table in the middle of a busy shopping centre to bare their teeth to the baying crowds. It costs around £100 for a one hour bleaching session, and like Eleanor points out, they say it shouldn’t make your teeth sensitive but I’m not so sure. Weird. Just weird.
