I can confirm they will give you tap water no problems and with a very big smile, too. I personally didn’t think my(vegetarian) meal was brilliant, but other people seem to enjoy their(meaty) food and thought it was good and huge portions, too. They get three stars and not two for having a nice place — I could sit there all night — and nice people who work there.

I’ve never actually been to the restaurant but I have to say, it is my favourite takeaway! Can’t be bothered cooking but want tasty food with healthy options or a cheeky bottle of wine delieverd? This is the place for you! They always have great food, lots of great value deals and provide a speedy service. My favourites include breaded prawns, spag bol and of course the cheese cake! Lots of options for all, including a lovely steak if you’re feeling flush(totally worth staying in your pj’s for!) Best takeaway in the G44 area!

First look at the menu look may give you the impression it’s quite expensive, but you could be just as happy with a starter or a side order. The bread was so big I couldn’t believe someone would have it with a meal!(OK, maybe a wee salad or chips) Was also surprised to discover you would not be kicked out of the premises or told off for not ordering a main or a drink like some places do. Don’t push it with asking for tap water, though. EDIT: these pasta types served at DG are egg-free but not guaranteed to be vegan: spaghetti, fusilli and penne.* They have a lunch deal now, and though menu may be a bit little limited, there are some nice pasta dishes. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - * But please ask again if you’re reading this in 2051 as they might change their range.

I wasn’t thrilled about going to Di Maggio’s and my expectations were not high. We went because Ketchup refused us entry — it was 8pm and we had nine-year-old girls with us; Ketchup is a bar masquerading as a restaurant so no kids after 8. Shame because it was the girls’ birthday and they’d really, really wanted to go Ketchup(don’t know why — it’s nae great). After tears were had, we went up the street to DiMaggio’s. DiMaggio’s had a good range of pizzas, pasta, a kids menu, and efficient, if prosaic, service. The pizzas were tasty with a crisp crust and the pasta was creamy and perfectly cooked. I wouldn’t choose to go to DiMaggio’s again — it’s a bit characterless — but nor would I resist going if someone suggested it. The twins enjoyed it, so I’d recommend it as a place to go with kids or as a group.

Ok, I admit it — I was wrong(ish). Blatant snobbery always had me looking down at Di’Maggios, without any real sound basis. I’m ashamed to admit, I was wrong. Forgive me! You see — for what Di’Maggios sets out to do, it does well. Very well. Granted, the menu lacks some imagination, and it’s not the cheapest, but everything on the menu is exactly as you’d expect and the portions are generous. On my inaugural evening visit, I went all-out for a 3 course binge. Stuffed mushrooms, a T-Bone steak and apple pie. The mushrooms were delicious with an intensely garlic dip, my steak was perfect. PERFECT. Medium as ordered and not a shade more(or less). The best steak I have eaten in Glasgow for some time. Drinks-wise, Peroni is the only beer on draught, so that’s good. Wine is a small but varied selection. The only downfall? The apple pie. Lukewarm at best, and rather«Tesco value» tasting(iyswim). If I were to put mo0ney on it, I’d bet that they’d ran out and had had to source some from the back of a cupboard somewhere. The ice cream was faultless though. Total for 2 people with 5⁄6 drinks(including that t-bone) — change from £80 A decent 4 stars, and I’ll be going back. Again, and again.

A Glasgow based chain, this Shawlands’ branch is light on the American, but heavy on the portions. While it is not a cheap choice, more mid-range, it has a good selection of baked pasta and vegetarian choices, although I always go for the seafood. Despite the Italian American theme, it does do a few items off the Yankee track: Indian spiced prawns, an oriental salmon dish. This are okay, but merely hinted at the exoticism their names suggest. They are lightly themed rather a serious reworking of foreign spicings. The pasta is top notch, however: fresh, soft and delicious, the sauces understated yet tasty. The starters are light and diverse– they could easily serve as a tapas menu. The large windows, and its location at the top of Shawlands do make this a nice place to people watch and, during the summer, makes the restaurant fill with natural light. It’s better around lunch time, but ti never gets so busy that the service is less than excellent.

I’ve been to a few of the Di Maggio restaurants and im so glad i’ve got one near my new home. Nice décor, good food and good value. Service was average as they done just enough and not as much as they could have. Im saying that because it was quiet and the staff were speaking amongst themselves rather than with me :(Still i’ll give them another chance.

Great place to grab some good Italian food. The staff were friendly and quite willing to customise the dishes as requested and give more detail on the menu options. A comfortable size as long as it’s not full and the food I had was very tasty.

I can’t say I get excited at the idea of visiting Di Maggios. It’s a handy location but the food isn’t anything different from what you get from any of the other hundred italian restaurants that are in Glasgow. If you like Frankie & Benny’s you’ll get the same here.

Good location at Shawlands Cross but best to get a bus and then walk as parking can be difficlut to find. Good Italian food, good selection of pizza and pasta djshes all freshly made and served quickly. Usually very busy so can be a bit crammed in at the weekends.

A nice wee restaurant, usually quite busy but not too bad. The staff are friendly, although one time we went the manager on duty was very abrupt with us, almost throwing us out for sitting too long after our meal finished! Any other time Ive been it has been excellent though. They have a good selection of Italian foods, the lasagne is excellent as are the pizza’s. Only down side would be it all seems to be a bit fast foodish if you know what I mean but it never does try to be a fancy italian anyway, so no harm done. The seating can be quite cramped at times, and some of the seating is right up on pollockshaws road, a main and busy road, though this doesnt detract from the good food and good value. Have a look online for vouchers etc as they always have some on different sites that you can download and print off. Enjoy!
