I love D’lish for a lunchtime takeaway — their homemade soups and paninis are the best in East Kilbride in my opinion. I recently had a piece of their Iced Gingerbread and I literally could have eaten a full loaf! However, I have only given it 3 stars as on one of the rare times I’ve sat in, I ordered a baked potato which had a stingy amount of filling and was rock hard! My little boy had the kids option of ham sandwich and it was mainly fatty slices of ham. He is quite fussy normally but even I wouldn’t have eaten it(and I eat anything). I’m not the type to complain but I wouldn’t sit in again.

There are not many good deli places in East Kilbride, this is the exception to that rule. It is in St James Retail park(think the architects designed this thinking they were in Spain not EK!). It sells a variety of sandwiches, paninis, baked potatoes. Special mention to the pulled pork rolls they do on a Friday. They are massive, juicy and well worth the 4 quid. The baked potatoes are some of the best I have tasted. Fluffy, big and you can pick whatever filling you want from the deli counter. Also comes with a tasty salad. They also do good breakfasts. I have had the pancakes and the French toast and both were delicious. I am very lucky that this is 5min walk from where I work!

Despite the terrible pun-like name, and the architectural crime that is East Kilbride’s St James’ Retail Park where this café/deli is located, D’lish is a wonderful gastronomical treat in the Hairmyres area of the town. Always busy at lunchtime with local office workers and families filling up on baked potatoes, filled baguettes, sandwiches or daily specials — all prepared to order in front of you. A daily changing offering of tray bakes and cakes are available to accompany a coffee. The ice cream is also excellent and good value. There’s a large seating area where you can have a sit down meal from breakfast through to early evening dinner. D’lish also stocks a range of foodie gifts, like speciality pasta, tins of Italian coffee, and non-food gifts like Arran Aromatics toiletries and scented candles. Friendly staff and good hygiene practices makes D’lish highly recommended(the food prep staff don’t handle money like so many other places — you know those places where they think the plastic gloves are to protect their delicate hands rather than for public health reasons? Thankfully you won’t find that here!)

D’Lish is a great place for a freshly made sandwich, pannini, jacket potato, wrap, soup or anything you can think of(pretty much). You get to see your sandwich made right in front of you, Subway-style but without the pre-packaged rubbish and with all the love! They also do really good breakfasts and have a large seating area for sit-down lunches and evening meals(when they do a pre-theatre too). Independently owned and doing well! Good to see it.

Lovely café in the new St James retail park next to Hairmyres Hospital. The food is delicious, sometimes a little pricey to sit in but you get what you pay for and the quality is very high. I used to work nearby and would go here everyday for my lunch, the staff are really really helpful and make the place what it is. 5*****.
