Similar to some other fish and chip shops in quiet areas, this one opens for lunch roughly around 11.30am and closes about 1.30pm. It then reopens later to catch all the lazy and hungry workers on their way home. The prices here are excellent! Possibly, the cheapest I’ve witnessed in recent years — and unfortunately, I am a regular chippy eater. The special fish is very nice, if you can wait for it. The other usual suspects are much as you’d expect to find them. They also do pizzas, though sadly I’ve never actually went this step further… but they do have proper pizza ovens and I’ve seen others getting them. So, they’re probably at least to a decent standard. Though, they usually have quite a selection sitting in the heated area ready to go, so this place is always good if you’re in a hurry or just desperate to go home. Unfortunately, the thing that really could bring down this place is the chips. Sometimes they are extra tasty and good, other times they leave a lot to be desired. I suspect, they get away with this amount of hit and miss due to the lack of other chip shops in the immediate area. My new favourite nearby takeaway has became Da Vinci’s due to the excellent pizzas but that’s another story…
