Went here on Saturday for the first time. Had a lovely experience here, food was mouthwatering and service first class. The menu offered traditional Scottish food such as beer battered fish and chips.

Attended Ingram Wynd as a group of 7 on Saturday night, seated straight away and drinks order taken quickly and arrived quickly. * £12.95 for 2 course meal and drink per person * Food arrived in good time * Timing just right between starter and main course * One main was wrong however apologies were made and correct main brought out asap and without asking was deducted from the bill * Food tasted excellent and portion sizes just right. All in all a great visit and will certainly be returning soon!

I’ve been to Ingram Wynd quite a few times over the years, and it’s definitely consistent. I can’t remember the last time our table was ready(if you’ve got a booking this shouldn’t happen, just politely ask the people currently occupying it to leave!), most recently we had to wait nearly half an hour for the table… but otherwise the service is fine. Nothing amazing, but fine. Fine is actually a word that perfectly describes Ingram Wynd in general. The menu isn’t exciting, it’s full of solid Scottish restaurant standards which are all okay. The last time we went I had the venison and black pudding sausages and mash. The mash was great! The sausages were okay, not that I’d have been able to identify what kind of sausages they were and they were a bit bland, but a good size. Apparently the steak is good mind. Of course décor wise it’s rather lovely, all dark and gothic, perfect for a cold winter’s night, I just wish the food was a little more exciting(not that there’s anything wrong with doing standards but they really have to be excellent) and that we didn’t always have to wait.

Dinner regrets… Went out for dinner last night with friends and it was a last minute decision so options were limited. Ingram Wynd had room for us and i had heard good things, so why not give it a try, I will start with the good. Arran Blonde Beer — Very nice. The tomato and corriander sauce for the mussels was tasty… The service was quite good from the waiting staff. Thats it on the good. Sadly the food was very poor. Olives were tiny. Mussels were tiny. The chicken liver pâté was awful. The Venison sausage was very over cooked. Basically burnt. The steak burger and chips that I had was really basic. The burger was burnt and very bland, the wedges were to thick and had no spices added to them. From this review it will be easy to tell that I was disappointed with the meal and I would be very surprised if with the array of new places opening in Glasgow if this place lasts. I now know there is a reason we were able to get a table while all the places near by were fully booked! The worst of it is, it is not cheap either. They are trying to hit a certain market where they can charge high prices, to do that the food actually needs to taste nice!

I was here on Tuesday afternoon for a meal following a friend’s wedding. It was perfect! The food was delicious(and I’m a nightmare for not liking stuff). The staff were fantastic — attentive, accommodating, and cheerful, with obvious high standards for themselves. And the surroundings were pleasant. My friends(whose wedding it was) were also very complimentary about the process of organising the meal.

Baffled by the 5 star reviews on here. My first visit was however on a busy Friday in Christmas season, dining from a set festive menu. At £27 a head, I was not bowled over by the food and in particular the portions. Having ordered in advance I was still expecting to be asked how I like my steak cooked, but instead was served up a steak not to my liking with a meagre portion of chips and half a massive tomato that was not grilled — as would’ve been expected when eating other grilled food. The dessert was, I must say, awesome. Nice inviting décor with excellent service which made up for the low points elsewhere. Tempted to go back on a different day of the week, but it’s not on the cards.

Very, very sticky. Die Preise sind nicht hoch.

I have eaten here a few times now. The last time was on a 5pm deal which allowed us 2xcourses and a bottle of wine for £22. I expected tiny portions and compromised service as when you are on a deal this can often be the caseWrong, the service was excellent very friendly staff who were on hand but not in your face, the food was supberb hubby had haggis tower for starts then a steak which came with fresh chips and mushrooms with a lovely sauce, I had soup of the day which arrived with a basket of bread enough for the 2 of us to share, I had salmon which came with a huge portion of mash and some roasted veg with a wee bit of colcanon, lovely! we left room for a desertthe homemade bakewell tart! Yum, hubby had a pint of Peroni, only 2 draught lagers on offer but the usual bottles etc. The wine list is varied and they have a cocktail list which looks tempting. The restraurant is Victorian in décor with a Scottish flair, if you are booking ask for a booth as they are lovely and cosy, there are 2 larger booths for say parties of 6 or more. The pre-theatre is great value at £12.95 for 2 courses, they do afternoon teas and have just recently opened a beer garden/terrace area. I would give it a try for sure but i would suggest booking in advance as it gets busy, check the website for menus

I came here on Hogmanay for a nice romantic dinner with my husband. On that score, it did not disappoint. The restaurant is richly textured with dark, cozy seating. They’ve put votive candles in the nooks and crannies of the brick wall and the general effect is very atmospheric. The food is excellent – fine dining Scottish done right. Not stodgy, just satisfying. The sticky toffee pudding is the most amazing thing I’ve ever tasted. My only issue was with the service. They rushed us through each course, obviously in a hurry to get out of the restaurant before 9pm. Our waiter was distracted and perfunctory. However, I liked the atmosphere and the food so much I will go back again, whenever I find myself in Merchant City, and test to see whether the bad service was a one-off due to the holiday or a more regular state of affairs.

In the heart of Merchant City I have had dinner here twice so far with two different groups of friends and everyone was overwhelmed. I immediatly liked the atmosphere(truely Scottish with a big stag head on the wall), the waiters were all very nice and the food was just excellent. I don’t eat meat, but there is a good choice of fish(tried the sea bass and the honey glaced salmon on the two occasions I have been there). For true vegetarians that do not eat fish the option is a mushroom risotto as far as I could see and the haggis seems to be only the meaty version — I could be wrong about that I did not ask. Try one of the deserts. Toffee pudding with butterscotch was gorgeous on my first visit, the second time it could have been just a wee bit more moist — but if I had not known from last time how good it can get, I would not have noticed.

Meh. The boyfriend and I met here for lunch one day after a morning of mind-boggling lectures at Strathclyde. A key indicator of trying a new restaurant is how busy it is. The restaurant was pretty slow, but we were reeled in with the lunch special and the fact that we haven’t tried it yet. The décor was pretty. The waiter was friendly, although seemed a bit flustered(maybe a bad day?). The food was a bit underwhelming… which was disappointing. Sad times.

Ingram Wynd is truely fantastic, it is a victorian experience which you probably will never have had. They will wine you and dine you to your best expectations(well they did to mine). The food is truely quite unique, you would expect a royal king sitting at his big wooden table with his knights getting fed this food, such as Roast Rib-Eye of Beef or Pot Roast Pork Belly. And the deserts are to die for, I had dark chocolate, hazelnut and rum parfait with vanilla ice cream and my boyfriend had rice pudding panna cotta with roasted fruits and caramel ice cream. Yum, it is hearty filling food that is gorgeous. The best thing is you can’t complain that about the way anything is cooked because that might have been the way that they did it back then? Great experience, great service and great food.

What a gorgeous restaurant! From the outside it looks like a restaurant you find on the streets of Paris the fine dining capital, and the interior doesn’t disappoint either. It is decorated in a Victorian style with thick, black curtains, 3 darkly painted walls with Victorian paintings, sketches and maps on them, one exposed brick wall and tall, chintzy patterned floor lamps. This dark, moody interior creates the perfect cozy and intimate atmosphere for a special romantic meal. Everything I have eaten here has been uttery sublime and is a complete assault on the senses as it looks and smells almost as good as it tastes! In fact it’s so good you don’t know whether to eat it or book a room with it! If you can’t fork out for the a la carte menu then the pre theatre menuis excellent and you get 3 courses for £15.95, which trust me is worth every penny! Or why not go in the afternoon for tea and scones served on the most adorable china tea sets! You can also buy gift vouchers for the Ingram Wynd which would make a great anniversary gift for your favourtie couple!

Ingram Wynd is a stunning restaurant in the Merchant City in Glasgow. Decorated with huge ornate mirrors and beautiful artwork, this establishment caters for people looking for Scottish food with a fine dining twist. There is an extensive wine list and drinks list avaliable in Ingram Wynd. They also do a mixture of cocktails ranging from 5 – 8 pounds, standard mixology such as Cosmopolitans and Manhattans. We plumped for a lovely bottle of the Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile which was reasonable at 18 pounds considering it was bloody marvellous! We dined A La Carte last night and were treated to a lovely Ham Hock Terrine and a Parmesan Soup for our starters. The terrine was scrumptious and more-ish while there was not a drop of soup left which was perfectly accompanied by flash fried sprigs of cauliflour. For our mains we had the Honeyroasted Duckling with Toulouse Sauseages and the Glazed Ox Cheek with Truffled Potato Purée and Wilted Spinach. The duck was devine and accompanied the thick, sauseage slices wonderfully, but the ox cheek was by far the best dish of the night; falling apart like butter it satisfied the eyes and the belly! For desert we had a Dark Chocolate Hazelnut And Rum Parfait with Vanilla Ice Cream and a Rice Pudding Panacotta with with Roasted Fruits and Caramel Ice Cream. Both of which were beautifully prepared and tasted like a heart attack but completely worth it! A cracking wee find in the Merchant City and good if you’re heading out for a special occasion of else you just have some money to burn. 3 course meal with a bottle of wine and two after dinner drinks came to 75 pounds, but worth every penny and tip.
