Absolutely love this place! They have delicious gluten free cakes/loafs and the coffee is top notch. I would love to go back and try their food. It sounded delicious and healthy. It is a cool place to bring a book or your laptop, but it is rather small. On a positive note — they allow dogs :)

The Finnieston area has totally changed in in recent years with all these new coffee shops opening and popping up, it didn’t take long for Dumbarton road to catch up. Now that there so many good places that serve coffee, it’s now a hard choice where to go. The Meadow road coffee shop is a fantastic place that serves great coffee, there are specials offered and sandwiches, platters & freshly baked cakes. There is only window seating, and I don’t think the seats are that comfortable, but I suppose it’s for the minimalistic look. Overall great place for tea & cake for under £5

My plan was to walk along Dumbarton Road and stop in at a few places I’d never been to, Meadow Road Coffee was the first stop, kindly suggested by my fellow Unilocalers. It’s a small space, sparsely set out, all wood and artisanal baked goods, and definitive hipster vibe but don’t let that put you off. The coffee is great, as is the music is an eclectic modern mix which was a nice change from the ‘chuck an album on’ approach a lot of places seem to follow. I ordered a flat white, made with Dear Green Ethiopean blend coffee, and when it arrived in a rather fantastic little black handleless mug, spent a lovely 15 mins sipping a fantastic coffee whilst I watched the world go by. A few regulars popped in and out, I can imagine it’s a welcome sight as there is little in the way of competition near it(ignoring the greasy spoon across the road) and if it was on my regular travel route I could see myself popping in often. Alas it’s a little out of the way, but for the coffee it’s well worth a detour! Don’t expect to work in here though, there are only window benches available and whilst you could answer a few emails, after my 15 minutes I was glad to be getting up and moving again. It’s a small consideration for a wonderful little coffee shop.

Great food, really good coffee. Good music and they have children’s books for my daughters to read. Service is great.

Funky cup and saucers, don’t do decaf coffee but nice chilled out and great coffee. Have a variety of different types of freshly cooked food and a lot of very tasty looking treats! Seating is nice that it’s round the window giving a view onto Dumbarton and meadow road. Clientele when I was in was very mixed young professional to older retired with q bob or two!

Nice wee place that as I’m not often coffee-shopping in Partick I’d probably never have noticed. I was on there on a special mission for a seitan sandwich having read a heads up comment by a fan(employee?) the night before on a Facebook vegan group. My friend & I decided to share one and I ordered a soya latte. They use Bonsoy soya milk — if that means much to anyone. It’s organic. I was so glad I’d indicated to the server that we were sharing the sandwich because it was very nicely presented on two plates with a side salad each. My friend isn’t keen on peppery flavours so she wasn’t that keen on it; I confess I just knew it was seitan and vegan and I hadn’t taken much notice of what other flavours were going on when we ordered. I probably would have preferred more of a sweet BBQ flavour, but that’s just personal preference, was still good. Coffee was very tasty, and I read a sign that says all of their coffees are double shots. I wasn’t so keen on the cup it was in; the size was great as it was pretty big but with no handle on it it meant I couldn’t hold my sandwich in one hand whilst lifting my cup with the other. If I’d just been in for coffee and no food I probably wouldn’t have been bothered by that either. We left a couple of hours before closing; unfortunately for the guy whose first day it was(and his colleague probably thought it’d be a quiet post-lunch period and the only two current customers weren’t going to be any bother) I needed a receipt and he wasn’t certain how to do this on the till, but — no problem — a call to a colleague for assistance and I got my receipt. Forever the vegan causing trouble. :) No vegan cake from the counter of sweet treats available, so we went elsewhere, but if I was in the Partick area meeting a friend for a quick catchup or needed a takeaway caffeine fix I’d definitely pop back in.

Such a cool, relaxed little coffee haven. Was up super early one morning, so went out on the bike and treated myself to some coffee and a spot of breakfast here. I was the only person in the place at the time, there was one dude working and he was playing really good music. Bliss! I went for a cappuccino and some toast with cream cheese and smoked salmon. He only had enough smoked salmon for one piece of toast, so reduced the price and game me some toast with butter and jam too. Was like a wee toast buffet, so good. The smoked salmon was so delicious and the bread was perfect. The coffee was one of the best I’ve tasted! Perfectly made and so smooth. Noticed they had a small deli counter and some tasty looking sausage roll combos up on their board. Will definitely be back to sample more of their stuff. Bakery47 deliver here too. Yay! Great seats at the window for people watching, even though it is in a bit of an odd spot along at Thornwood.

I wound up in here due to a torrential downpour, and what a great find. The barista greeted me right as I walked in the door, and I could smell the fresh aromas of coffee in the air. Meadow Road always has people in it when I have walked by, and has a good chill vibe. There is limited bar style seating along the window, so it is not necessarily the best ‘loungy’ coffee shop. The food looks decadent, but unfortunately I have been watching what I have been eating :’(When I am off this hiatus, I will come back to have one of their peanut butter chocolate brownies!!! I seriously couldn’t stop staring at them LOL! The gentleman serving up the coffee found it quite entertaining. It is cash only, but there is an ATM right across the road at the postoffice. Anyway, looks like I have found another great little coffee shop in the neighbourhood!

Nothing says good morning like a really good coffee, cracking music and a friendly barista. Meadowhill managed to have all three. Yay! They don’t take card, but luckily there is a cash machine across the road. My long black was really sweet and the right size of coffee. We were scientists were playing in the background and it was the perfect place to just chill out for 10 minutes before getting on with my day. The barista and I had a chat about the V60 vs aero press as I’m looking to invest. So might head back at the weekend to see exactly how they both work. They were using both pact coffee beans and dear green! Knowing that this place is approximately a minute detour from my route to the train station may be very dangerous indeed!

Meadow road has only been open for a couple of months, but has already secured its place among Glasgow’s coffee shop elite. The coffee is sometimes from the London company Pact(who also deliver to your door!), sometimes from Dear Green, sometimes from somewhere I’ve never heard of. It is always delicious, perfectly made, and responsibly sourced. Their sweet treats are crafted by the fantastic Bakery 47. Both the salted brownie and lemon and raspberry polenta slice are to die for, although the icing on their carrot cake wasn’t quite sweet enough for me. I took my dad last week and had the veggie platter which was really tasty and filling, while he had a parma ham, mozarella, and avocado sandwich that looked yummy as well. The staff are really friendly and the prices are right for the quality. I love the relaxed atmosphere and they always have excellent tunes playing!(Last time I was in Sean had Nigerian legend William Onyeabor floating through the speakers) All in all a great place, I’ll be gutted to be moving house, away from this little gem in Partick, at the end of the month!

thornwood is a bit of a no mans land really. so when I heard there was a new independent coffee shop nearby, I went looking, and didn’t find it, gave up for a month, and came back to find this treasure of a place. every coffee I’ve had to date here has been immaculate. perfectly served, perfect temperature, smooth and tasty as feck. and couple that with a range of cakes that are spot on perfect in taste and texture then you have a winning combination. I never thought I’d see a strong competitor to the established indie coffee shops, but this place has them beat. in fact I’m spending most days plotting reasons to pop by that way to taste some of that fine coffee. seriously among the best in Glasgow, if not wider afield.

I simply could not resist the sweet, sweet lure of Meadow Road Coffee, when in Patrick for work. Conveniently, I was training just across the road. And this packed-out little coffee shop looked just too good to pass up on. It’s a little bit mysterious, Meadow Road Coffee. — Where traditional shop signage is placed, there’s no sign booming ‘Meadow Road Coffee’. Instead, just modestly hanging chalkboards in the windows. It does feel a little temporary; a little ‘catch it before it’s gone.’ I do hope this isn’t the case, as I very much enjoyed my lunchtime visit. The interior is minimalist and stripped-back; simplistic and modern, with a clean and slick feel. It’s on the small side but I just loved the use of the space. There was no back space or staff work area per se, just one long wooden table, with deliciously appealing baked goods and then a fresh deli counter on one side too. So, you can sit right at that very table, and watch as staff whip up coffees and serve up cakes behind it. It seemed all go when I popped in around lunchtime; the kind of hustle and bustle that has passers by curious as to just what is going on inside. The customer sat at the ‘table of cake’ even spoke to the staff and I as they were getting my order ready. It’s great that the layout encourages this. — I’m a fan! It was a fleeting visit, nonetheless, but it was just what I needed at the time. — A latte to go and a pork, chorizo and apple sausage roll. — Delicious! A smooth and dreamy cup of java and a tasty savoury bite for the afternoon. Just perfect for my lunchtime walk in the sunshine. Best of all, I was treated to the most classic of Glasgow welcomes; the warmest of smiles and that charming, sincere friendliness we’re famous for. Meadow Road Coffee, you’ve got something good. — And I’ll be back for more of it!

Perfectly made dear green coffee, a nice meat platter with particularly good bread and bakery47 cakes — what’s not to love?! I think this might be the best coffee within hangover-strolling distance from my home so will definitely be making more frequent visits! It is cash-only and doesn’t have the biggest food menu but I’m not sure I need much more than coffee and cake!

This weekend has been a great sensation of coffee and food! I’m am genuinely happy with my choice of stopping by this café before heading to Buzzcut Festival today! First of all, this café is gorgeous. I absolutely love raw materials, especially timber textures on black! It gives the space such character, even if it’s small. Secondly, the coffee here is excellent. My partner and I noticed how careful and clean the barista is.(Coffee tip of the day) By this I mean that when he makes the coffee, he cleans off the filter, which doesn’t burn any coffee while extracting it(most cafes don’t bother cleaning because it’s so much hassle but it really makes a difference and is an important step! This avoids bitter tasting coffee!!); this means an excellent caffe latte for me and a delicious cappuccino for my partner! This guy knows his stuff, obviously! + the cups are so pretty; I like the irregularity of it! We also had lunch. Meat and vege platter between the sir and I! Fresh and delicious, with no complaints! And a gooey chocolate brownie(by Bakery47) for dessert. Staff are two cool dudes. They really do look cool ok! This café is worth the travel down from the city centre! Will definitely pay another visit very soon! Would love to try more of their coffee.

There’s an explosion of indie coffee places in Glasgow right now, which is a very exciting thing — even to a part time coffee drinker. Meadow Road Coffee in Partick is a lovely wee space which has a tranquil vibe and some delicious looking food. I popped in hoping it would be suitable as a working space but it isn’t really. There’s bench seating along the windows and no obvious customer loo(perhaps you have to ask) so that kind of ruled it out for me. I decided to stay for a cup of tea though and even though I just had a run of the mill breakfast tea, it was presented in lovely crockery and was delicious. And only £1.80 for a whole pot — bargain! I really like the décor in here — it’s simplistic with nice plants around the place and generally feels quite comfortable and welcoming. There’s a big bench area displaying cakes as well as a sandwich making area. The special sandwich of the day was roast beef, beetroot & parmesan(£4.95) which sounds like heaven and I am kind of kicking myself for not getting it. They also do cool breakfast options like granola pots, toast, muesli and croissants on the weekend by the amazing Bakery 47. If you’re in the mood for something a bit different for lunch, they also do platters — fish, meat, cheese and veggie(which sounds like it might be vegan). All up this is a nice wee place and I appreciate somewhere doing something a little different so I’m sure I’ll be back here before long!

Great wee place! Pointed out to me by the good people over at bakery47, so I knew that the cakes were going to be delicious. It’s spacious and relaxing, with massive windows letting in lots of light, but the wood interiors keeping it cozy. Barista has some skills too :) will be back soon.

I passed by this place by simple good luck on my way back from a longer walk and it had the sort of décor that made me want to stop. I love my relaxed coffee places and the vibe I got from the simple decorations and limited coffee menu made me want to stop. I’m really glad I did. I had just eaten and so barely glanced at the food, but noticed that there was a sign saying they’d be getting more food options soon. Other than that there were a few small bars of some kind. I wish I had looked more closely but I was post-brunch. Also, I go to coffee places for coffee and anything else is just a bonus. So, onto the coffee. Due to being on my way home, I had to get my coffee to go but my hopes were still high. The coffees other people had looked great with just the right level of latte art to show they steam milk well. They had bags of coffee from Dear Green Coffee(always a good source). The baristas there were working at just the sort of speed that shows they care enough to not rush. I got a flat white and it was very good. It was good enough to make me feel bad I got it to go and couldn’t sit down and enjoy it properly. It’s just not good enough to make me go out of my way for it, but I have a feeling it’ll be my go to place when I’m near that part of Dumbarton Road, even if I didn’t plan for coffee originally.

Thanks to Briony I was pointed in the direction of this new coffee shop in my ‘hood, yo. Always looking for any excuse to grab a cheeky caffeine-fuelled beverage I set out along Dumbarton Road to check oot the latest coffee-kid on the block, Meadow Road Coffee. Named so as it sits on the corner of Dumbarton & Meadow Road. They don’t have a sign as yet but my coffee-loving eyeballs spotted all the coffee making gear a quality coffee shop doth require & enter did I… I’m a fan of the look of this place — lots of wood and metal which is v. s’nice. Not many tables as such but still a good amount of seating in here. It was both nice and airy & warm(bonus this time of year!) at the same time. The greeting was also very warm from the 2 lovely guys behind the counter. I asked if they had soya milk which unfortunately they didn’t so I opted for a regular cow milked flat white. They use Dear Green coffee beans here so straight away I knew it was going to be a damn fine cup of coffee before that liquid jump-cable juice had even hit my lips. Upon the lovely long counter they had a few cakes and bakes — a banana loaf, a salted caramel millionaires shortbread, some peanut butter brownies & also some undescribed biscuits which turned out to be ginger snaps & free ones at that! Yas. Bonus. I took a ginger snap & a brownie home to try later and both were delicious, especially the immense peanut buttery gorgeous, dense, chocolatey brownie, uh! So so good. If you like brownies then you NEED to try these. One of the best I have tasted(besides my own of course, haha!) NOMSVILLE. Needless to say my flat white was really good also. Spoke to the guys about opening hours and they said as they’re newly opened they’re still taking each day/week as it comes which makes sense, however for now it’s pretty much 8am until 4 or 5pm. They also said soon they will be offering more(hot?) food so will open later then. I picked up a wee card by the till & on it says ‘Meadow Road Coffee & Pizza Co’ soooooo I am assuming(and hoping!) they will soon be serving delicious homemade pizzas here too! Wow. What a dream shop — coffee, cakes AND pizza?! Yes please thank you very much! Mmm… A most welcome edition to this part of town(there are no decent coffee shops near this part of Partick/Thornwood) and a solid 4 stars and I will deffo be back again. Can’t wait to see what these guys have up their sleeves…
