I popped into Monsoon last week with a friend who needed to get a dress for a wedding. As she was only gong to the evening celebrations she didn’t want to go the whole haul with feather headband, hat etc. but wanted a beautiful, formal dress that she could wear again. We popped into Monsoon, noticed that they currently have their infamous 70% off sale and rushed over the dress rails. We each grabbed some dresses in her size and headed towards the changing room. After trying on around seven dresses all at a ridiculously amazing price, we were both stuck at what one she should go for. We narrowed it down to a gorgeous floor length plum coloured gown or a shorted greeny blue strapless number. After much deliberation she finally decided to go for the latter and she looks stunning in it and it cost only a fraction of the original price! For me, my dress shopping experience sums up Monsoon for me. Their dresses are always gorgeous and perfect for formal occasions such as weddings, proms or special events and I generally only ever pop into Monsoon if I’m looking for a new frock. The rest of the clothing, for my, is never really anything special and the tops in particular are always rather shapeless and I find it rather overpriced for what it is — unless you head in when it’s the 70% off sale!

Monsoon specialises in vibrant and beautiful dresses, that are always made to the highest standard and with the finest materials. It is often a little out of my price range, however on payday it’s nice to splash out and treat yourself to a special something. It’s worth keeping an eye out for sales, as you can really bag yourself a bargain and pick up some fantastic items at a snip of their original price. Everything is bright and beautiful in this place and as a fashion store, it really stands out.

Although it’s rather pricey, Monsoon is always, always full of gorgeous dresses. As Darryl noted, not always bang on trend, but definitely the place to splash out on something special. It’s a popular choice for prom dresses, especially for more quirky girls who don’t want to buy the same red satin ballgown as the other girls in their year. The sister store, Accessorize, is also amazing — but in the same turn merits its own review. Either way, most things sold at Monsoon are high-end and, if you’re under about 35, strictly for dressing up. If you prefer to buy something more expensive in order to know it will last or feel a bit more chic, Monsoon is the place for you. Although it’s out of most high street shoppers’ price range much of the year, the sale is always worth a go round. Lovely well tailored pieces, great for business casual and dressing yourself up a bit.

I can’t walk past this huge window display without admiring one of the dresses in the window. Often bright, eye-catching but so beautiful, I would love to have wardrobe full of them and am drawn in to tease myself. My heart freezes a little when I see the price tag and off I scuttle. All hope is not lost though as I know the chances that it will be in the sale are fairly high — yay! Monsoon sales are one of the best things about January and one of the few sales where I actually enjoy going through the rails of billions of bargains.

Monsoon. Clothing for the slightly richer people among us. Also, styled for a slightly older audience, I wouldn’t say Monsoon is bang on trend, however, but they do have a few gems, like their dresses! Oh, the dresses are gorgeous — expensive, but lovely lovely lovely. From the LBD to the emerald green cocktail number, they really do have a wide variety, which makes me very very happy, and a lot of other people very very happy. When it comes to sales they know how to do it — 90% of stock gets 75% off. How brilliant is that?!
