I love the clothes from Jane Norman. The store is situated in Buchanan Galleries which is so handy! However, my only issue is I wish the clothes weren’t so expensive as the quality isn’t very good. My dresses bubble, colours fade, belts break and so do the purses I buy from here actually. I guess I only shop here because the clothes actually fit me. Unfortunately i’m not sure they stock for large sizes.

You do need to be prepared for the rather strange sizing that goes on in here. As the clothes are made to be TINY. The changing rooms are also very small with no space, so you may well feel like a fatty pressed up against the mirror. The rest of the shop is well set out and packed up railings clearly displaying their stock. There is a good mix of dresses, tops and trousers as well as bags, belts and accessories. However, as mentioned in previous reviews the quality is not as good as you would expect considering the prices. Nonetheless, it’s worth a look, especially at sale times as I’ve managed to pick up a little summer t-shirt dress for as little as £4(although, there is not much of it, admittedly). The staff and service are pretty standard and not exactly note worthy.

I totally agree with Nicola’s previous review that Jane Norman clothes are tiny, they would make a stick insect look fat. I’m not a huge fan of their clothes, I have bought things from here in the past but the quality isn’t great and after a few washes the clothes are usually falling apart. Not great when it isn’t exactly cheap. I also think some of the clothes look a bit tacky and the kind of thing only 13 –17 could pull off. I do, however, really like their handbags and little accessories and usually make a B line for them when i venture in.

Insecure shoppers, beware! Jane Norman is a going-out-on-the-town-centric fashion clothing store, hell bent on making you feel like a fattie. While much of their stock is quite pretty and looks spectacularly slim-fitting on the rails, you’re probably going to feel like a bit of a pie once you actually try anything on. Since it’s pretty expensive, I generally try to covet from afar and seldom make the intrepid exploration indoors. Last time I tried on clothes here, I was averaging 2 sizes above my usual size at H&M and Topshop, and 3 sizes above some other shops where I’m a smaller size yet. They do have some lovely tops and dresses for going out, though. Some of it can veer towards the neddy side of things, but if you’re looking for something ultra-pretty and don’t mind paying a little extra, it’s easy to mix-and-match to your own style.
