I think the name Nude would suggest that this place is some sort of strip club or something along those lines, but don’t let this name put you off. It’s just a bar. I’ve been in here a few times on nights out and I’ve never been the biggest fan of the place, I much prefer Radio downstairs. Nude is on the top floor of Radio on Ashton Lane and is always absolutely heaving with people. The music plays at an exceptionally loud volume and it’s difficult to let the staff know what it is you want; I asked for something once and got something completely different due to this. The staff aren’t bad, they’re probably more hired for their looks than their skills though. I probably wouldn’t advise this place for drinks with friends, but if you’re looking for a pre-clubbing place then this is probably for you!

I really want to give Nude five stars because I literally went here every night of the week when I lived around the corner, but the reason I only give it 4⁄5 is that the bartenders aren’t really consistent with how they make their drinks. There were two bartenders I really liked(they’re gone now) that would make excellent drinks but the other two seemed like they didn’t really care how the drink turned out, so they wouldn’t do as great of a job. Otherwise, it’s a great cocktail bar. It’s cozy, the drinks are cheap but good, they have a really great cocktail menu(I do wish they had a few more choices though), and there’s sometimes a live DJ. I love love love Nude. It’s a great place to go with your mates to wind down the night.

Nude was never really a regular hangout for me, but I used to visit it fairly frequently. Comes a time, when at the end of a night out(particularly after a meal), you just wanna cocktail. Something that tastes nice. I’ve been to Nude before, and, yes, a good cocktail does take time. What I didn’t enjoy, was the service. I realise it takes a while to make a mojito, or a cosmo, and yes, I am willing to wait. Yes, I am also willing to wait for the person ahead of me to wait for theirs as well. What I’m not willing to do is watch one guy on the bar, doing all the work while the manager/supervisor(?) and another staff member stand behind the bar and have a chat. Not when there’s a few of us waiting. I thought it was rude. When I finally did get served, my friend ordered a drink which was on the specials board, and then was told, after it was made, that it had been on special, but it wasn’t anymore, and that menu was incorrect. Really, he could have said that before he started making it, as he just wasted a lot of time, and my friend ended up spending a lot more on a drink than he had wanted. And that’s when me and my friends left for friendlier pastures. I went back again recently, got the same brusque treatment and instantly turned around and walked out again. I’ll go back if they clean up their act, but for the moment, my money will stay in my purse.

I have to agree with Dallis’ review in so much as the service was not satisfactory when we were in here. The standing about behind the bar seemed to be a theme for two of the staff on and after a considerable amount of time I had to make myself known to the barman(something I hate doing!) and continued to wait thereafter. The cocktails are very good though and they are experienced enough to make you something even though it’s not on the list — something other cocktail bars in Glasgow don’t offer. Again, as with many of the bars in Ashton Lane it is worth a visit if you’re starting out at uni of hitting the west end for a night out at the weekend. Not my cup of tea but it is many other people’s

I used to be a big fan of this place — cocktails galore, and so so cheap too! In my student days, I was a regular visitor and enjoyer of white russians and french martinis. In my naïve younger days I thought very highly of the atmosphere and décor of the place too… Then I started drinking less and noticing more about this place; it’s grimy and quite cheap looking, really. The crowd is a mixture of trussed up girls and pervy old wealthy looking men, and couples eating each other’s faces on the back sofas, and the music is deafening and stale. Good cocktails, but drink plenty of them, because the surroundings jar after a while.

Do not be put off by the name — this is not a strip club, or anything dodgy! Nude, situated above Radio(see my previous review), is a great cocktail bar from the G1 Group. Daily cocktails start from £2.50, and on Thursday’s, they have a number for £2… yummy yummy. They also share promos with Radio(£1 wednesdays, etc), so it’s a decent venue for predrinks. Fair enough, it is esentially Radio, but it’s a bit more dressed up — and attracts a marginally older crowd. I love the neutral colour scheme with the fairy lights and mirrors — it looks posher than it actually is! The bar staff are reasonably pleasant, and they tend to be reasonably quick about the cocktails(that’s one low point about Nude, you may have to wait a while at the bar, depending on who ordered what before you!). I’d recommend a mid week visit to save the pennies, and get the best of the music/drinks.
