I’d heard about this place via twitter and after taking a detour in town the other day thought I’d pay it a visit. It is near Mandors and attracts a Mandors-type crowd. Head up the walkway to Mandors and it’s to the left of that, it’s pretty easy to see once you’re up there but not from the street. They had a big display cabinet of various items — breads, cakes — as well as a few deli items. I was looking for a snack but didn’t want to sit in and asked if there was anything gluten free as it all looked very bready. Thankfully with some investigations the girl working there was able to confirm their lemon cheesecake was gluten free as it didn’t have a base. I got a slice to takeaway — £2.50 which I thought was pretty good and on my way I went. Now I had to store the cheesecake(in a plastic container) sideways in my handbag so it wasn’t in great condition when I got home and had fallen apart. I don’t blame One Cube or Two for that though! The taste was excellent, a real kick of lemon and really smooth. Delicious. I’m definitely going to venture back to try some of the other menu items. The menu online is pretty interesting and their ethos is «we only serve what we can make» which I think is quite lovely! They also have a few«coming soon» dishes — pie of the day, casseroles, afternoon tea and discounted meals at the end of the day for students.
