Came in looking for an «Unchained» coffee shop and found The Coffee Loft. Soup was amazing, home made and piping hot :). Toast with butter and jam, egg filed Sandwich and a cheese toastie were just as delicious! The coffee was mediocre but the friendly service made up for that. Smashin’!!!

To be honest, this place is unexciting. Considering the crowd that the Mandors Fabric store next door pulls in, you’d think that this place could have made a bit more of an effort. It’s not that it’s not nice in anyway. It’s just that it seems to have abandoned style in favour of erm, nothing really. It’s just white in there. White walls white tables and a white counter. They do have a balcony available. Well, that’s what you’d call it if you were being kind, it’s really just the open space between the café, Mandors and the furniture shop opposite. It does have some chairs and tables out there permanently, but the days in which you’d like to do that in Glasgow are probably fairly limited. Yes, they sell coffee, yes they sell cakes and yes they sell lunch. But you’d actually find more character in a branch of Starbucks.

Perched high up on Renfrew Street and sharing a close location with Mandors and the Park Bed Store, this is a nice if a little hard to find wee place. Serving the usual coffee, tea, soups sandwiches and other wee snacks i would say this is a good alternative joint if your up this end of town. Hey, its probably a damn sight quieter on a weekend shopping day than your bigger places on Sauchiehall Street. With a pretty minimalist décor, decent amount of seating and a warm, clean feel to it, the Coffee Loft is pretty OK without really causing to much of a stir. You know those trainers you bought when you needed a pair but nothing really sparkled at you? the ones you revert back to once your favourite ones have become more air than trainer? Yeah, that’s what this place feels like… a dependable if slightly ‘meh’ pair of trainers. So yeah, they do good lunch deals as you can imagine they would in trying to appeal to the work crown in a pretty busy market(Greggs just down the road).
