Amazing place, ambience, service and staff. Very friendly owner. A sure shot stop for me whenever I am in west-end. Always looking a for a reason to dine there :)

Worst meal I had in Glasgow. I came in around 2030 on a week night to place an order for take away. There was one table eating, but it did not appear to be busy. After waiting 5 minutes to be acknowledged, I was just about to walk out and head to the M&S Simply Food across the street when a staff person saw me at the host stand. She told me someone would be with me in a minute, so I waited some more until another staff person appeared. I told him I wanted to place an order for take away, and was told I should go upstairs to the pizza place, even though I didn’t want to order pizza. I insisted that I wanted pasta and salad, and was able to place my order. I waited about 20 minutes for my food, and upon receiving it, went to my hotel room for dinner. For £15.95 total(£9.00 pasta and £6.95 salad), I received some of the most overpriced, uninspired food I have ever had. My salad consisted of 4 cherry tomatoes, half a handful of rocket, a small lump of mozzarella cheese and 3 – 4 drops of balsamic. for close to £7! The pasta, which was described as having mushrooms, goat cheese and herbs, did good on the mushrooms, albeit in a very small quantity. The herbs, however, consisted of about 3g of chives, and I don’t think there was any goat cheese in the pasta, only cream and perhaps a small amount of brie. It was lacking in flavor. My meal was a total disappointment. I would have received better food for a lot less money had I gone across the street to the M&S Simply Food(the equivalent of a gas station convenience store).

When Stazione shut its doors in 2009 there was a genuine fear in the West End that one of its most impressive stand alone buildings was going to lie derelict for years to come. After all, everyone had a soft spot for the Mediterranean restaurant but how often did people actually visit? Thankfully later in the year the Italian Bistro stepped in and, well, kept things much the same. Opening for morning snacks, lunch and dinner, as well as offering a trendy wine bar, the food is fairly standard Italian fare but this place is all about the décor and location. Stylish yet laid-back, it’s a pleasant venue for all occasions and with an experienced team manning the ship, it has enjoyed a successful opening stint in the city, perhaps aided by a fear that this building may be lost for good if it fails again.
