Past Times is a gift shop which is a one stop shop for presents particularly for mums and grans. They stock jewellery, ornaments, clocks, mugs, stationary. The staff are also very friendly in this store and every time I’ve ventured in I’ve been greeted with a smile and a hello. On a recent visit I noticed a gorgeous perfume bottle that looked quite old and vintage and as £16 was a very reasonable price, it would look great on an old fashioned dresser. I guess I’m only giving it three stars because I find many of the items quite over priced and some of the items are a little bit too specific to certain tastes and therefore I find it a bit difficult to choose gifts here as they’ll either love it or hate it.

I remember being taken into Past Times by my Grandma when I was younger, and although I wasn’t trusted or allowed to touch anything, I was always absolutely enthralled. So many of the things they sell here are absolutely gorgeous, and beautifully crafted. Their jewellery is moderately priced and a little bit different than what you’d find elsewhere. It’s a lovely place to buy gifts, trinkets, and special little items for around the home. I’m a total stationery nerd and their selections make me positively squeal with glee. It’s sad, but it’s true. They have a lovely section of books, diaries, and pens for the nerdy and the precious. Overall a darling shop with lovely stock for antique and vintage lovers, for memorable gifts and treats.

«The past makes the perfect present» says the Past Times motto and it’s so true. For lovers of anything antinque and vintage and fans of those cute wee gift shops this is the perfect combination. Crammed full of gifts, cards, stationary, cds and dvds and toys whose themes span several decades. You are bound to find something in here for someone — it caters for all hobbies and styles. I adore the art deco style notebooks myself. My favourite though? The jewellery. With pieces from every decade I fall in love with each period as I wander round the glass cabinet. It is just beautiful.
