Great local liquor store. We purchased lazzaroni Amaretto and it was amazing. We had never tried this kind of Amaretto since it’s hard to find in the states. It was so good and had alot of variation of flavours. The shop itself is packed really tight and it can be hard to see everything they carry. Some things are tucked behind counters where you could miss something. You really need to know what you are looking for.

As Chris has pointed out, it’s unlikely that this place will become your regular offy or indeed corner shop. Nonetheless, I am a fan of this place. It may have something to do with a few fond memories of when me and the boy just started going out. But, it’s definitely not entirely based on this. This Peckham’s is pretty small with a homey, welcoming feel to it. The staff are really friendly, polite and helpful, so it’s popping in here is always a pleasure. The real strength of this place though is the selection of fine food and drink. It has a great range of meat, cheese and bread amongst other deli food stuffs(olives, anchovies — the whole lot) as well as tinned goods of more exotic stuff for the cooks out there. Additionally, there was the added bonus of being able to purchase booze here after 10pm. Though thanks to new legalisation, this is now a thing of the past.

This store is the booze selling branch of the ever increasing and flourishing Peckams tree. Selling all the fancy and expensive beers, wines and spirits the world has to offer, this is a high end alternative to your average«bevy» shop. Now i know thees places are expensive and as a person of realistic financial means i would never purposely seek out a Peckhams every-time i’m after some booze… however, you know, its nice sometimes to treat yourself. So, if your feeling like a wee treat and fancy a fancy bottle of single malt and a dent in your overdraft, well this may well be the place to do it.
