I had a lovely relaxed family meal here, we had booked through a offer but were also able to order from the main a la carte menu, should we choose to do so. I had chosen here because I had only once been with my friend for a quick espresso, the building here is so beautiful and the staff are so friendly that when my mum suggested she would like to go for an Italian meal, it was the first place which crossed my mind. We ordered Ortolana and Primavera pizzas, and Gnocchi alla Sorrentina. The pizzas were huge and very tasty, a light dough with crispy edges and a beautiful tomato sauce. I was a little surprised at the size of the gnocci portion, it seemed on the small side(but perhaps this was as it was on the 5pm menu?). The seasonal veg on the Ortolana pizza were cooked to perfection, and the fresh basil on the Primavera made it sing. We ordered a posh bottle of wine, their menu is organised by wine region rather than style or price so a little overwhelming. The one we had chosen was unavailable, but our waiter recommended another and it was delicious. Service was a little slow at times, but to be expected on a busy Saturday, and we enjoyed a leisurely early dinner. Pudding couldn’t be anything except tirimasu. a pick me up indeed, flavoursome and indulgent. Would definitely go back, for a treat, it has inspired an Italian wine adventure :)

What can I say! This restaurant looks just as good on the outside as it does on the inside! The building that’s it’s situated in just works somehow, and reminds me of something you’d see walking through the streets of Milano or Roma. But don’t get me wrong it’s not a case of style over substance with Sarti, oh no! The food, atmosphere and waitstaff are just as authentic and impressive as the architecture! As soon as you step through the doors it’s like stepping back in time to an old Italian Mafia Gangster film, the entire evening all I could think about was the godfather. We were a large party and we arrived later in the evening after a theatre performance, however the management and waitstaff couldn’t be more accommodating! They immediately arranged a large long, Italian style table for us and this was very welcoming! About half of us(the men) ordered the steak and the other half, a traditional spaghetti carbonara! The steak was perfect, as was the pasta, as was the evening!

Quaint establishment. Good variety including gluten free options. Excellent espresso, obviously.

Was with a big group after a conference and the taxi driver recommended Sarti to us. Although it was after 9pm they were able to accomodate us. The owner gave us special attention and brought out some great antipasto and bread to start. We ordered a number of wines for the table which the staff kept flowing. The dinners came out hot and delicious and everyone was highly satisfied. Definitely a great find in Glasgow.

I handed over the reigns of «chief restaurant recommender’ to my friend on Friday when we were looking for somewhere for lunch. All I knew was that I felt like pasta, and somewhere I hadn’t been before. She suggested Sarti, and told me that she visits frequently with her family and that the staff were super friendly. And there was wine(the most important part!). I had a sneaky look on Unilocal just to make sure it was going to be ok(not that I don’t trust her!) and in we headed. I was pleasantly surprised with how warm and atmospheric the restaurant was — lots of dark timber and shelves packed with supplies gave this a traditional Italian feel. We were seated and looked after by a really lovely waiter who was attentive without being pushy. I went for Gnocchi alla Sorrentine(£11.90) with cherry tomatoes, oregano, tomato sauce, baked with mozzarella. This was just what I wanted — the gnocchi was fluffy and cooked perfectly and overall the dish was filling and tasty — like a big hug. My friend went for the Penna alla Gorgonzola(£8.90) and I stole some off her plate. This was a definite WOW dish but due to it being creamy and cheesy, I’m not entirely sure I could eat a whole plate of it. I believe Sarti do half serves of pasta so I would get this next time with a tomato based pasta for a good balance. We finished our meals and sat back to relax and chat. We never felt rushed or like the staff wanted us to leave, and we were able to stay for about another hour before it was time to go. The only criticism I have is the TVs in the restaurant area which I found incredibly distracting(gymnastics was on!).

A beautiful busy family run Italian restaurant. The menu has a good choice and the service is really good. The quality of food is of a high standard and the atmosphere is fantastic. Definitely recommended!

My first impression of Fratelli Sarti were good, it seemed individual and quite cute really with all the bits and bobs all over the walls. Unfortunately, the atomosphere was lacking. I think where we were sitting in the larger area the lighting was quite stark. Softer lighting in a nice little resteraunt always works for me. The food was ok but nothing spectacular really. I had the cannelloni which was quite nice! A good, standard selection of pasta’s, pizzas etc on the menu. As a student my comment on prices probably isn’t too helpful to most. I found it was a bit pricey in both the food and drink. All in all, it seems fine for a more casual dinner I was definitely over-dressed and for that it seems ok! K x

Went to the one on Bath Street — Can’t complain at all, great food and good service. Reasonably priced food but wine can be rather dear(from £17 for the house)! Pints of beer are also around £4.20-£5.

Been here once and definitely won’t be going back again. The food was average at best, the staff were nice enough but the food took a very long time and the atmosphere inside the place was horrible.

This is a lovely setting, though it can feel slightly daunting at first. This is most likely down to the large marble tables, marble flooring, impressive counter/bar at the back and the quietness of the surroundings. However, the friendly and attentive staff soon make you feel welcome — even if the temperature doesn’t(it was rather on the cold side when we ate here). The food is cooked to perfection and while the portions don’t look like much to start with you quickly find your belly filling up. As a shellfish lover, I would totally recommend the mussels well as any pasta dish going! Meanwhile, they have a full selection of good wine that is — perhaps — slightly more expensive than it should be. I would however give coffee a miss as the finished product does seem to wildly depend on which member of staff makes it.

This is the only branch of the small family chain I have eaten at and always had a good meal. I am particularly fond of the rosemary foccacia bread as a starter. Very tasty! It’s on the expensive side but has a cheerful ambiance and good food, so I go there when I’m feeling flush. Fratelli sarti’s is a bit off the beaten track away from the shopping hoards, but despite this is almost always busy, though I never fail to get a table. The restaurant is located in an old bank building with lots of historic woodwork, marble and chandeliers. Looks the part! The desserts all piled up in the chiller cabinet look divine, but alas I’m always too full to try them out. Would definitely recommend, though I would like to note that the stairs to the loos looks like it could do with a deep clean and repaint.

Sarti, on Bath Street, has been restored to its former glory after being acquired from a bank several years ago. The main dining room in here has marble tables, wood panelled walls and Murano glass chandeliers. Despite this, the ambience is quite relaxed and the wait staff make you feel at home. The moderate peicing and good atmosphere in here made it ideal for my friend Kate’s 22nd birthday meal in June. I had minestrone for my starter. It was yum and very rustic-looking. For my main I settled on classic Spaghetti Carbonara. Yes, it’s messy, but it was simply made and a lovely comfort meal for the rainy day. The portions were absolutely massive though, and I dont think any of us managed to clear our plates. The dessert cabinet looked amazing. My tastebuds said yes, but my swollen belly won over in the end, saying no. A safe bet for a nice meal in the city centre.

I am a great lover of italian food, and i have to say that this is one of the most authentic and tasty restaurants in the city! Great for breakfast coffee, quick or relaxed lunch or even a late night romantic meal. The restaurant is decorated with marble and traditional features of the building still lingre– creatin a ornate, yet cosmopolitan feel. Suitable for children and parties. Wide ranging menu with pastas, rissotos, pizzas, meats and salads– can be expensive, but no more so than any other simmilar city eatary. Both the pastas and pizzas are very good. Wine and spirit selection is also very good. Very close to the City centre– george square and theatre land.

This is a nice Italian located on the junction of West George Street and Renfield Street. The building is very ornate inside with beautiful cornicing and marble features which add to the dining experience –I think it may previously have been a bank. It seems brighter and airier inside than some of the other Sarti brances. There is a good menu offering a selection of pastas and risottos but my favourite is the pizzas. They also have a good wine list with a good selection of Italian reds, whites and dessert wines. I’ve knocked a star off as the prices can be a little expensive but there are usually special offers on for pre-theatre etc.
