My love for pizza runs through my veins and you won’t ever find me turning down a slice… until I moved to Glasgow. What is with Glasgow and all the horrible pizza? After searching high and low for a decent slice to satisfy my cravings, I happened upon Scrummy Yummy Pizza one dreary afternoon out in the city. Let me first say that you MUST find this place and go have a slice. It’s not as great as the pizza I’ve had back in the states, but it surely does the job. The crust is soft but crispy, the base of the pie crisp. The toppings are a plenty and overall it’s well worth the lower than average prices for the size of pizza you get. The shop is tucked away under Central Station and when you walk in, you get a blast of NYC to the face with all the pictures and postcards from such an amazing city. There are even Dollar bills and random American coins various other patrons have left on the wall. Makes me miss home, that’s for sure. On top of that, the owner is amazing and delivered one night to our flat in Broomhill, not even really knowing how far away from his shop it was(it’s not that far) and was happy to do so. I love this place with all my American heart!

This place delivered to my old flat — and my office! We fed 12 hungry ladies in my workplace on 2 pizzas some wedges and some doughballs and are a great option for home delivery, quick pleasant and cheap — spend £20 and you will easily feed 4 people until they cannot move! Would not recommend the doughballs, pizza express style fluffiness they aint, more hard bread rolls with cheese on. But round Gorbals way there are a great deal of shocking takeaways and this is one of the best that will deliver there. 1 question — how on eath do they fit those pizzas in the back of the branded smart car they have???

It’s nice to have a bit of Americana when it comes to pizzas from this place. They look big but are not that much of a hassle to eat. Never done the home delivery from them so I can’t comment on that but still check this place out if you can

With lots of Unilocal interest in this city-centre take-out pizza joint I thought I’d give their delivery service a try and add it to my pizza delivery review list. Being an independent business the delivery service isn’t the most smooth & professional experience you’ll ever get but at least they are friendly and try hard to bring their pizza to your humble abode. They aim to be a Manhattan-style pizza joint, which means that their single-size pizza is big, real big. Big enough to feed a small army, or three ravenous Scots. It’s also really cheap at just £12.50 for an 18″ pie, but that’s where plus points end. What you get is a very greasy pizza, with a thin uninspiring base that is nothing worth writing home about. They offer dips, including a garlic mayonnaise affair, as an optional extra, but there’s not much crust to dip. Their delivery service is probably good if you want to feed a party of people cheaply, otherwise for me it’s just another late-night alternative to the chippy or kebab shop.

Pizza is tough(hard to do) — but it should not be tough(shoe covering). A pizza crust needs to be like a chewy cracker. Crispy base and yet a bit of bite. I am a bit of a pizza snob. I have brick constructions in my backyard dedicated to pizza and bread. So, when Scrummy Yummy got so many decent recent reviews, I had to check it out. Is the pizza good? Yes it is. Is it Great? Not really. The crust is not there. It probably is the best pizza in Glasgow, where most folks are used to Domino’s. But there is something lacking in the crust — a little char, some crusty bubbling that would make this a great pizza. Price is great — the service is fast and the location would kill me if I still commuted through Glasgow Central. I would be grabbing two slices everytime I need to get a train. If you are arriving into Glasgow Central, avoid the Greggs and such in the Station. when you get down the stairs by Track 14 — you are less than a minute away.

Hmmmm. what to write? I’m just gonna go ahead and say yum, then gonna follow it up with a wee nom, add another nom(for good measure and the purpose of balance and nom symmetry) and finish it up with a recommendation… give these guys a go. Great pizza, good prices and fast, oh so fast, no nonsense service. Scrummy Yummy? Yip, pretty much.

OMG, this place is open pretty late and I have to walk past here on my way back from work every night. For some time I was visiting this place after every shift for a slice of pepperoni and a small tub of Caramel Chew Chew. I had to stop myself. I try to walk past it now and not look at it but every so often I get a whiff of pizza and I get depressed. In a nutshell: it’s good.

Underneath Central Station Bridge you will find the biggest pizzas in Glasgow. These pizzas are so big you have to manœuvre strategically to get the box in the doorway! Lots of delicious and fresh ingredients are used to make these takeaway and home delivery pizzas. They have their own set toppings or you can go wild and create your own! For the size of the pizza you get the prices are fantastic. The best part is without a doubt their Early Bird Special. From 4:30 — 7:30 you can get any pizza of your choice, scrumptious house potatoes smothered in cheese and sauce, a 2 litre bottle of juice and delivery all for the price of £15. The best 15 quid you’ll spend if you’re skint and need a LOT of food !

I’ve been meaning to go here for ages because I am a massive pizza fan, and all too often pizzas are a thick, doughy, greasy mess. SYP has amazing New York style pizza. Sarah Jane is totally right in that it’s still not quite on a par with U.S. pizza or Italian pizza. I’m lucky enough to have sampled pizzas in Florence, Rome, Vegas, New York and San Francisco and they definitely know how to do it. But SYP is the best we’ve got, and it’s a lot cheaper than Florence might I add!

I’ve given scrummy yummy pizza five stars because simply its the best pizza in Glasgow(I would point out I’ve had better pizza but this has been in italy and the US and I never feel like pizza here is ever up to that standard but its not a glasgow thing its a UK thing)

I phoned on a Thursday afternoon to confirm if they delivered Pizzas to offices at lunchtime, I was informed I could but to allow for 1 hour. I ordered a Pizza on Friday @ 12.07pm, was informed it would take 45mins. At 13 – 07 I phoned to enquire about the whereabouts of the pizza, was ensured it would leave in 5mins. At 13 – 30 I phoned again, to ask where my delivery was, straight away I was asked if I wanted to cancel, when I said yes, there was an Okay, Bye no apology or the guy will be with you in 2mins. I have to say this is the worst take-away delivery experience in my life. They didn’t give a hoot! I don’t think they even made the Pizza.

Pizza place which serves gigantic 18 inch authentic New York thin style pizzas. Has a menu full of New York inspired pizzas by name and toppings or of course you can create your own. Also sells pizza by the slice, which is handy, when you’re just not that hungry and want a quick bite on the go! Their lunch time special deal is good too giving you a couple of slices of pizza and a can of juice for £2.50. Has a small sit in area in the shop but is mainly best used for take out and also provides home delivery. Prices are reasonable considering the size of the pizza you get!
