Always a great selection of real ales here at exceptional prices. A wide variety in its clientele as JD Wetherspoons tends to try and be all things to all (budget conscious) people.
I’ve recently upgraded my review to 5 stars for the following reasons:
–friendly locals
–super cheap prices
–10 real ales available at a time (from just £1.65 a pint)

This pub is named after the Tory politician who donated the Pollok House and its surrounding lands (creating the magnificent Pollok Park) to Glasgow upon his death in the late 50s.
This is a Wetherspoons with something of a local feel. Although the bar undoubtedly buys into the Wetherspoons ethos — no music, family friendly and plenty of drink offers — there is something strangely comforting about it. It’s one of the few pubs in Shawlands that doesn’t show the football of a Sunday afternoon, so that’s always a positive if you’re looking to avoid that hoo hah.
