This dorky American loves her some British sweeties! I can go hog wild with the selection here. AND I can load up on oatcakes on offer. I love that — on offer. I really am regretful that I couldn’t cram a few pot noodles in my suitcase. I will be back. With a bigger suitcase.

This Spar shop, located in the parade along Cleveden Road, is very handy for picking up basic foods and a selection of supplies. They sell fresh bread, fruit and vegetables, along with the usual confectionary, crisps, newspapers, magazines and the like. The also have a small freezer section and some luxury cakes and desserts. One of the best things about this Spar is the post office facility, which is located at the main counter. The staff are very friendly and happy to help, and the location is very handy for the residents of this area. The shop is wheelchair accessible. The prices are average for a corner shop — more expensive than a supermarket but a lot handier.
