I got a coffee here. This is a hidden one I’ve never seen before. I’m not usually up this neck of the wood. It’s a nice one:)

Starbucks, the same the world over. Part of the appeal or lack of appeal for some. My personal plus for this chain, is being able to pre-load money onto my card or phone, so when I hit a sugar low I am not having to search for money. It’s great for the caffeine hit. This branch is the closest to my office, I tend to visit post lunch(between 1 and 3), by which time the place is rather quiet. The staff are very friendly and always ask how my day is etc, which I appreciate. I recently tried the Maple Macchiato, a maple syrup pancake in coffee form! Not necessarily the best coffee, but a safe option!

This is always an awkward review to write. I’m a massive coffee fan but not the worlds biggest starbucks fan. They normally offer a good service level but not the best coffee. This branch has a good and bad points, on the good side, the staff here are amazing, they as so polite and efficinent. This can be a very busy branch with lots of office workers in at peak times. The staff cope very well with having such a busy branch but it can be quite frustrating to have to wait when there are large queues and only one person on the till. The coffee is OK but that is as far as I will go with the praise for starbucks coffee. Cakes and snacks are nothing special and don’t ever get me going ohhh. If it wasn’t for their convenience and the Starbucks reward I would probably pass it by.

The only good thing about Starbucks is the staff who are friendly most of the time depending on the store that you go to. With this branch I find it has less character than most of the other stores, its as if something’s missing. The coffee is sometimes a hit or miss depending what day you are in.

Starbucks, and more specifically the Bothwell Street branch in Glasgow, is my go-to coffee house. I guess I have to admit that I have been sucked in by their wonderful marketing so regardless of there dodgy tax affairs I keep going back. Oh ye of no principal! The Bothwell St store recently had a wee refurb and frankly looks awesome because of it. The refreshed layout of the seating areas makes it a lot easier for folks to sit either as a couple or on their own with the laptop. Not that it was difficult before but there is less of the clogging between people queuing at the bar and those sat down already. They have also done away with the single tables in favour of a communal row of tables and one long seat, which I like. They also got rid of the big leather couches, which while comfy were prone to being taken over by one or two sprawled out trendies. Now there is a table with space for six and again this makes it slightly more communal and gives you more reason to at least say«hello» to the person next to you! The coffee needs no comment. Starbucks coffee is the best you can get. Food is okay, no more no less. Prices for coffee are in line with every other chain but the quality just about justifies it. Prices for food are ludicrous but not quite as bad as Costas. So, yeah I recommend this branch but don’t come between 12 and 2 as it’s busy enough as it is and I need my table.

It’s Starbucks, it’s the same as every other Starbucks… good flat white… bad quality croissant! Staff are nice though so it’s not all bad :)

It doesn’t feel quite right to give a good review to a Starbucks. It is. what it is. You know what you’ll get. Except that that’s not 100% true, is it? Each Starbucks has its own feel, its own staff and its own clientele. And this one is rather lovely. It’s quite quiet, I always get a seat, the staff are friendly and the wifi is fast. It’s my little lunchtime escape from work when I need to get online and do freelancy work in the middle of the non freelance work day. Yes, I’m doing too much work at the moment. But this starbucks makes that okay…
