Compared to the TGI restaurants in Glasgow this is by far the best! The staff are lovely and it’s deals are always amazing. Food, of course is so good too! Only wish it wasn’t so calorific or else I’d go there every day haha! Great for couples, families and friends’ get togethers. Their strawberry daiquiris are my favourite cocktail ever.

DON’T WASTEYOURMONEY, TIME, GOELSEWHERE!!! Where to start with this place. Prebooked via email as a one otf night for family and friends to meet my wife so imagine the disgust when I was met with 2 tables in booths next to each other and not being able to interact socially with our guest. Our waitress was fantastic that night but the other staff and manageress just didn’t care about us. Drinks took over 40 mins, even worse they did not have enough wine glasses so 1 or 2 people had drink their wine from tumblers for soft drinks, unacceptable for any restaurant. Food took a while to turn up also and was of reasonable quality but to be 100% honest you get a better burger, fries and service in any Wetherspoons! I asked the manageress before leaving if she had in fact(during our meal) checked my email refering to the request for a table together for my guests and she said no but would check and email me the findings… still nothing 2 weeks later! An unacceptable, unforgettable experience that we want to forget so I will never return to Xscape TGI’S.

It took the best part of an hour to get our main course… a burger and chips, the food is ovepriced and the waiting staff ignored our table for 25 mins… we had to practically beg for free refills and when i told the waiter to take back my food he went away in a huff… no consideration for customers and cannot seem to handle their kitchen and orders when its busy. wont be back.

My first proper visit to TGI’s last Sunday. I’m not a fan of chain restaurants so I’ve never seen the big appeal for TGI’s. We were a table of 8, so there was a very long wait for our starters and an even longer wait for our mains. The starter was not what I expected. I ordered nachos to share that was ment to have fajita chicken on top. Instead it was presented as individual nachos that was clearly premade cheese on top and your mass produced chicken cubes! Nothing is more unappealing that cubed chicken. It tasted okay, nothing fajita like about it tho and not worth nearly £10. This is where my disappointment ends. I then got my 15oz rib eye steak, medium rare. Cooked exactly as I ordered it and chargrilled. Honestly it was fantastic, best steak in a very long time. I then had the Rocky road ice cream which was just amazing. Cocktails are always fun too. I don’t know if I’m giving a better review for this chain restaurant purely because I had great company there that night, but regardless I enjoyed myself and the latter part of my food. At that point it tasted less premade/flash frozen. In all honesty though, I wouldn’t say I would be rushing back anytime soon but it was nice while there.

It’s been a long time since I ate in a TGI Friday but given that we were in Xscape and our preferred restaurant, Fujimama, has closed(booooo!) we thought we’d go somewhere cheap and cheerful instead. Choosing between Frankie & Bennys, Tony Roma’s, Pizza Express, Chiquito, Subway, Harvester or Bella Italia is a bit of disheartening list but still, they all have the same thing in common, dependability. Given it’s been over 10 years since I set foot in a TGI Friday we thought, why the hell not! Nothing seems to have changed since then, TGI Friday remains fairly cheap and cheerful, even if it tries a little too hard to be an ‘American’ experience. The formula is well known these days, but that’s no bad thing; the service is good, the chocolate milkshakes are pretty damn good, and the food is dependable if not particularly inspiring. My partner and I both plumped for the French Canadian; a bun with grilled chicken breast, with maple syrup, crispy bacon, garlic mayo and melting brie. It was pretty tasty, with crispy bacon that was actually crispy(why is this so hard to get right?!), even if the bun didn’t really hold up to the stickiness of the brie, and I’m not quite sure where the maple syrup went as I could barely taste it. The sweet potato fries my partner had were good but not the best I’ve tasted. I guess the best way to sum up my experience would be to say that I got exactly what I thought from TGI Friday. Which sometimes is no bad thing!

Given the choice of eateries at xscape, all are mass chains that don’t exactly make you go giddy at the knees. Having never eaten at a TGI Friday’s, thought it the best out of a uninspiring choice. Went for a set meal for weekdays at £14.99. Fiona with prawn starter and chicken main with sweet potato fries. I went for chicken strips and sirloin steak. Service was a little off. Asked for our drink order whilst literally being sat down. Asked for a minute that became nearly ten minutes before server returned. Friendly enough chap, but it really felt chain like. Could barely talk to each over the volume of music. It really became annoying very quickly. Around 15 minutes later starters came out and they were actually pretty tasty. Not amazing but better than expected. Sadly, the main course left a lot more to be desired. Fionas grilled Jack Daniel chicken and sweet potato fries were pretty decent. Sadly, the sirloin steak was so tough, you couldnt cut in and the salt. omg. it tasted like a pot of it was tipped onto it. The sides of vegetables were boiled to death and disgusting. A waste of good veg. Server got manager over and he was kind enough to insist I didn’t leave without being fed. I just asked for same dish as Fiona to keep it simple. Not really fast tracked as it was nearly 20 minutes before it arrived. To add salt(no pun!) to the wound, the chicken had no seasoning and was a far cry from what our Fiona got. At this point, I couldn’t be bothered and we were going to miss the movie. Took 5 minutes to simple flag a staff member for the bill. Took my meal off, but that was a waste of £25 for one person eating. Rating reflects the average service, poor food and a really horrible environment. Safe to say I’m not eating in any tgi again! You Don’t Gotta Eat Here…

I actually prefer this TGI’s to the one on Buchanan St as it’s always quieter during weekdays which means you get better service. I find everytime I go to TGI’s and it’s busy my meal is poor, I wait for ages and often don’t get what I asked for. TGi’s at Braehead however is always really good during the week, I have had a couple of bad meals but again this has been on weekends or bank holidays. The staff are always really nice and pleasant and the food is gorgeous. Price wise it’s not too bad, although I think they have put prices up recently. Definitely recommend TGI’s though especially for a meal with a big group of friends. The cocktails from TGI’s are excellent aswell

I am a huge TGI Fridays fan and have reviewed the other Glasgow branch as 5 star but this one to me is just not quite the same. Staff are nice and food is great same standard as you would expect from any branch from the chain but there are a couple of problems. Firstly is the atmosphere, any other TGI I have visited has had a kind of fun party atmosphere no matter when you go day or night but this one doesn’t. Might be that it is so bright and open plan looking but I just don’t get that feeling of wanting to sit all night drinking cocktails. Other problem is it is really cold. I have been twice lately and both times I have had to keep my coat on as it was freezing. Food is excellent though and I would go back.

I love the TGIF in Glasgow. It really does seem like a ‘fun’ place to spend some time and the staff add to this with their cheerful service. Went into branch in XScape recently and it mut be said that it just doesn’t seem to have the same sparkle. Can’t quite put my finger on it. Same type of décor and friendly staff. Maybe it is the layout — it seems more cavernous and less cosy than the Glasgoe place. Food still good though.

TGI specialises in really decent American food(especially tex-mex dishes) of all kinds so if you love a good decent hearty meal, I’m sure you wont be disappointed. I’ve been a loads of times for birthdays etc and every time has been a good experience especially with the staff, they always seem lively and friendly. I find the menu has various wide choices for a variety of diets, tastes etc. Again, restaurants have always been fresh and follow really good American themes. I recommend that after reading these, you find your nearest TGI-F, I’m sure you wont be disappointed after trying all their food!

Really good to look at and pop in for an amazing cocktail! But thats where the pleasure ends! Restaurant is always freezing as is the food! The portions used to be huge but have rapidly got smaller, a few crispy fries scattered beside a burger does not satisfy me! There are plenty more better value and quality places to eat in xscape!
