Mrs G and I had not been to The Corinthian, in any capacity, for roughly two years so decided that we should give it a whirl having heard that there was a new brunch menu. At this point I must disclose that we were invited to try the new menu and, as such, were not paying for the meal. I assure the reader, however, that this post is an honest review of the experience we had there and I have not been asked, nor have I offered, to provide a favourable review on account of this. The welcoming, stylish interior of the main restaurant area is iconic. It’s amazing to think this was originally a private residence before serving as a bank; if this was my gaff I would’ve known that I had made it. Upon arrival we were led to our table by a friendly waitress. We had a booth on benches facing each other but there are also crescent-shaped booths available which are suitable for bigger parties. The brunch menu comprises a good selection from a full Scottish breakfast to pancakes with bacon. Mrs G ordered a Bloody Mary to drink. We may, or may not, have been drinking a bit the night before and this sounded ideal to me; I ordered the same. They were lovely. They were nice and spicy(as asked) and, I think, topped up with a splash of red wine. The liquid wasn’t thick as some can be but very tasty. I’m not sure how thickness reflects on the quality of tomato juice used, but I do know that it was a great drink that I would order again. After much deliberation(I had to ensure I at least tasted the Benedict), I decided on the full Scottish breakfast with a poached egg rather than scrambled. When it arrived a wee while later it was practically begging me to dig in. Everything on the plate looked of good quality, even the beans, which I would rarely take with breakfast, looked apetising(and were nice!). The sausages were hot and tasty, the bacon grilled nicely, the tomato was fresh(and, being a man, especially good for me) and cooked well, the tattie scone lovely, the Portobello mushroom was nice, the black pudding added a great flavour and the egg was cooked perfectly. All in all, it was very, very good. If I’m being picky, and this is just a personal preference, I would have liked the bread toasted a little more(I did not ask staff to do this and I’m sure they would have done had I asked!). Mrs G had, with no pressure from me(honestly!), decided on the Eggs Benedict. This is one of our firm favourites and a good way to benchmark the quality of the food here given we’ve had it in many places across Glasgow. The presentation was spot on; simple but delicious looking. The eggs were served on muffins with Parma ham with a fresh leaf salad alongside. These eggs were also cooked perfectly and oozed a nice runny yolk which intertwined with the delicious Hollandaise. Mrs G would have preferred a little more Hollandaise but I was of the opinion that the right amount was served; we don’t always agree! The Parma ham was a great idea and something I hadn’t had before with Benedict. I’m not sure why as it was superb! The Benedict compared favourably to some of the best we’ve had in Glasgow(I’m thinking Epicures and Booly Mardys) and we recommend it highly. Well done, Corinthian!

I’m not exactly sure what the big deal is about this place. I’ve never had the desire to go in, but after a surprise birthday party for my guy, a few of us headed here for a drink just to ‘check it out’. First things first– the birthday party was pretty low-key and casual and we were a bit under dressed for the Corinthian Club. I almost felt a bit judged walking in to the grand room where we had a drink. It took quite a while to get a few ciders and few mixed drinks. The mixed drinks took ages to make– my guy and I were both able to run to the toilets and back before they were done. Aside from taking ages to make, it cost 11 quid for two magners ciders. RIGHT. That right there basically helped me in deciding that this place really isn’t worth it. The mixed drinks weren’t that cheap either, but at least a bigger buzz is gained by liquor. We sat at the back of this grand room, in these super weird chairs. I felt almost like I was in a pram or something with this massive chair up over my head. We only stayed for one drink, but I wasn’t that impressed, so I’m not sure I’ll be back. It’s a great place, however, for large groups and nights out. It’s also good for the younger crowd as I’ve heard some of my Uni pals talk about fun nights out here.

This place is so pretty, from the outside, to the inside, and being able to(weirdly) see people washing there hands in the loos, to seeing the chefs prep the veg. If you walk past the Corinthian on Ingram Street and look down, you will see what I mean. Mum and I fancied a bit of bubbles, and it had started to rain, and we were virtually opposite. So you know, if the shoe fits right. We saw a bar immediately on our right, that was empty, and didn’t look to be open, which was odd for a Saturday afternoon. We were then greeted in the main lobby bit and told that there was room in the Flying Scotsman. So we got in, and couldn’t see if someone would tell us which table. Looking around all the tables had reserved signs, all for much later like 6pm-7pm. So we avoided these, 3 lovely ladies who were on a big table, said we could join at the end, which we did. Out of courtesy we just wiggled our table away a bit. Next challenge, bar or table service. With 0 menus on the tables, we opted for bar. So Mum went and ordered. Only to be told the card machine wasn’t working, so we would have to pay later. The drink was lovely, but the venue was so poorly run. There was children running about screaming, which is not what you want for an afternoon tipple. The bar was losing a lot of custom with not having a clear seating policy and reserved signs. Could do with more staff on the bar, and someone hosting the room, since we were originally told there were seats!

We’ve been sitting here for over an hour and no food. They forgot my soup and some one else’s drink. The food was ok but portions were small

Uhhhh… nope. We came with a large group, but I really can’t give them an easy pass, since they knew we were coming. The portions were very small, especially the pasta. The flavor was ok, but I would bet that the soup was prepackaged. The carrots were exactly perfect cubes. Like a machine cut them.. Service was very slow, too, and I am comparing it to the other places my group went.

What can I say. Not been here for years. Very posh, for a very gentleman as myself everything about this place is stylish. Expensive, but worth it. This is one of G1’s showcase places by the looks of things:)

I have visited the Corinthian a few times, for drinks and dinner, and am always happy with the experience! The food is pretty good, but I am really in love with the building and décor inside. It’s become a go to place to bring visitors, to see the nicer side of Glasgow, have a few drinks and a nice meal! I recommend the pâté, sea bass, sticky toffee pudding and of course the wine!

The food is meh, not spectacular but not bad. The place is a little overly decorated and a little too hoity toity for my tastes, but you might like it. Go to the flying Scotsman room. It might be your thing.

Overpriced. Full of interesting people watching, but not really worth the cost. Smells horrible(seriously. I stood at the bar wondering why an eatery smelled of poo…). On the upside, it’s beautiful. Go in to have a look around and then pop in somewhere else for an affordable drink!

No amount of stunning décor or delicious food can make up for being asked to leave your table because you’ve used your alloted 2 hours but the wait staff still haven’t managed to get around to offering you dessert and coffee. I’m pretty laid back but my patience was sorely tested by our struggles to attract attention when more beer and wine was required and the table needed clearing(we were a large group squeezed in like sardines to a modest booth table). The water when it eventually came after a number of requests was just one modest jug between 7 adults. Gee thanks! Two hours should be plenty of time to serve a leisurely three course lunch and coffee. Asking us to vacate the table when all we’d had was starters and main course was a real downer. If the service can’t keep up with the time allocated for lunch, there’s nothing much we hapless diners can do about it, except leave and go elsewhere for dessert. The Corinthian management need to take a long hard look at their Tellers Brasserie and make some changes pronto. What a shambles. Took the shine off what should have been a very lovely experience. PS If you are going to offer vegetarians a main course(Beetroot and ricotta tortellini with woodland mushrooms and truffle oil) use a vegetarian cheese to finish off the dish and not Parmesan. Rookie mistake.

This is a review of the Chambord & Nails Inc night they held in the opulent surroundings of The Corinthian Club. It’s no secret that I love a good cocktail — and what girly girl doesn’t like getting her nails done? So when I saw they were having a night of both at The Corinthian Club, I was there with bells on. The Corinthian always makes me feel like a «lady who lunches», and this night just perfectly enhanced that feeling for me. When my friend and I walked in, we were welcomed and brilliantly looked after from the very start. Lesley and Emma from Nails Inc were friendly and chatty while doing our nails and made me feel very comfortable going back there some day. Nails Inc might be a bit pricier than a lot of nail salons in Glasgow, but the finished effect really sold what they do to me(and the nails are still going strong!) And what could make a girls night even better? Well, of course it has to be some perfectly made French Martini’s from the chaps at Chambord. I’ve tasted a LOT of bad french martini’s, yet these ones were perfect — and we were never without a drink in front of us the whole time we were there. It was a little bit quiet, which is my only(weak) criticism — I think there would have been a bigger buzz at the event had there been more people there to really enjoy the event. And although it was billed as a «Ladies Night», I’m fairly sure I know a lot of guys who would’ve loved to get their manicure on and get into the spirit. All in though, I know my friend and I were made to feel very looked after all evening and went away with a lovely buzz about us — and we even made some new friends. Fab night all round!

Wow what an amazing looking building! The interior is equally as fab and apparently it was someone’s house back in the day! Lots of sculpted plaster and a huge dome adorn the ceiling of the main hall. Lots huge doors and big lamps as well. They do a good range of cocktails and i went for a lavender royal which was lavender syrup and champagne. So why the 3 stars? We ordered some duck spring rolls as a bit of a snack and they never materialised. Went to ask where they were and they had taken the money but not placed the order with the kitchen! Was told it would be another 30 mins. We asked for our money back which seemed to take forever. Slow service for again not a horrendously busy bar. It does strike me that they play on the looks of the building and forget that they also need substance(eg good service) to their good looks!

Not a fan of this place at all I’m afraid. It may look stunning but there is no excuse for poor service. It took my friends and I a good 20 mins to get served at the(not very busy) bar, and when my friend accidentally spilled her drink on me within full view of staff, no one came to assist or offer to clean up. They haven’t really thought things out to be honest; little things like only having one hand-dryer in the ladies(I felt guilty for hogging it whilst I tried to dry myself off!) and being able to see into the ladies bathroom from the street(which I find a bit creepy). Meh!

This is the best place to find wanabe footballer and footballer wife types! It is a spectacular venue but the clientelle is… hmmm, they think they are classy and to be fair, from far away in the dark they look alright but up close they’re a shambles — falling over their waaaaay too high heels, with their hair extentions half in and half out, the men are found with large encroaching sweat patches up their backs and beer spilt down their fronts! The club area on a Saturday night becomes a mosh pit and a bit of a meat market, its dark though so if you dont concentrate too hard you cant really tell quite how dripping with sweat everyone is until you’re one of them! Once I noticed a shirted man kneel down to the dance floor and have a cheeky cigarette then a couple of ladies joined in the fun! The prices are high! It’s a great place to go to do some people watching just for some amusement but its not the kind of place a classy lady/gent would ever visit and properly enjoy. HOWEVER The small rooms upstairs can be used for private function hire, this way you keep out the riff raff and can enjoy the nice décor!

Quite simply put, my favourite place in the wide world. The interior of the building is pretty spectacular, I remember being near speechless with awe the first time I was in here. The few times I’ve eaten, the foods been great. Not the best I’ve ever had, but damn good all the same. Which is what you’d expect given the prices. I love that regardless of the group you’re with, or any of their moods, there will be a spot in the Corinthian that will please everyone, from the huge main bar to the(fairly) small and intimate Charlie Parkers. My only gripe is that if you over-indulge in the Hendricks/Champagne/Wine, and have a friend with a penchant for wandering off that it may take you quite some time to track them down given the size of the place… but that in itself just gives you time to find yet another bar and enjoy some more of the gloriously cool ambience. A lot of people do gripe about the prices in the Corinthian, but it makes no bones about the kind of place it is and let’s face it, if you could afford to be in here every night of the week, you’re making too much money anyway!

I had my 21st birthday party here in July in the Nosey Parkers room and despite absolutely loving my party in the end I was pretty unimpressed with the fact I spoke to my ‘designated event co-ordinator’ once on the phone(when I was due to make a payment), despite having made appointments with her to turn up and find more than once that they ‘hadn’t been entered in the diary properly’. We were also quoted one price at the time of booking to then have that raised by £14 per head by the time of the party — price not being the issue since it was my 21st, but that was all probably a reflection on the fact I had to speak to whatever person was on reception duty every time I went in in the run up, meaning I never spoke to the same person twice. That aside the party itself was brilliant & the food was excellent. Our ‘private waitress’ was only there for the first 2 hours of the party then disappeared, which was fine because it was actually a tad awkward having her hang around but she disappeared without telling anyone and we didn’t really know if we were supposed to wait on her coming back or just start going over and ordering from Charlie Parker’s bar. I have a membership and am supposed to get a bottle of champagne on my birthday(it was champagne at the time I got my membership but has now changed to prosecco and that was what I was presented with on the evening which I was a tad underwhelmed with) but I had to chase it up about 7 times before it eventually arrived. The food inside the teller’s bar has always been great and the service at the tables flawless, I’ve also had many enjoyable nights at Charlie Parkers with their pianist etc. However overall I think the Corinthian really needs to do a bit of work to actually deliver on the service equal to the standard of establishment they advertise themselves as in terms of their events.

Simply as a building, The Corinthian Club is absolutely stunning, both its exterior and interior. Colin and I frequently go here when we’re in the mood for a good social drink, when we’d go into the main bar, or a quiet drink, when we’d go upstairs to the piano bar. I love the party atmosphere of the downstairs main bar and I also love the totally different atmosphere in the quiet piano bar, with a wonderful, wonderful pianist, who plays requests and some of his own songs. This place also has a relatively new casino right next to the downstairs bar. On top of the 3 mentioned rooms, they also have hundreds of other function suites, rooms you can hire, a room that hosts fashion shows and the like, and more bars(if you can find them!) Great night out, but the bouncers can be a bit rude at times which can sometimes ruin a night out unfortunately. Good food in the main bar though, which I think is served till 1am if I’m not mistaken, and the bar itself is open 24/7, I think the only place in Glasgow that can offer that.

Will never come back here again. As an American visitor, the other patrons are snobbish and stuck up even though they have nothing to back it up with. The service inside is not bad, but the bouncers are rude. My friend tonight could not get in with her friends because the bouncer thought she was rude and drunk. It was her birthday and her feelings were hurt. There are other competing spaces in Glasgow that can top this.

Popped in here on a shopping trip to Glasgow. At first I thought I wouldn’t get in as the place is so grand but the girl in the foyer was great, pointed me to the two available bars. The main bar or the piano bar. I chose the main bar and as soon as I walked in I thought WOW, the character of the original building and the décor is amazing. My large glass of wine was perfect and I sat in one of the enclosed thrones, relaxing. Although the music was loud and atmosphere great I had some relaxation sat back in the chair and I could lean out to feel and hear the ambience. Great place I hope to go back for some food, more drinks and hopefully get a chances to lose some money in the casino.

I love this place! The first time I went here, I was in awe at the beautiful place. The second time was equally as good if not better. I had not been before new renovation looks the part, but the place is fantastic. My favourite room is the private parkers, with the dark wall and mirrored photo frames. I love having afternoon tea in the boutique room, especially with champagne! Each room has so much character and is different from the others. I’m looking forward to a party in the langley room to see how it looks at night. The food here is well portioned and tasty. The first time I came here for lunch. I had the three cheese and plum tomato brochette which was full of taste and actually quite filling for a starter. I then indulged in the crispy duck salad, and it was to die for! words cannot describe I should have taken a photo to put on here. The second time I came here I was taken into a booth, which is perfect for a group and a catch up! I had for starters the crispy duck salad, as i enjoyed it so much before and the pan fried oban scallops. I had two starters as last time for lunch I was so full, which is always a good thing. Both times the food has been beautiful. The staff here are great and tentative, making sure food was ok and your glass is always topped up. cannot fault them! Definitely recommend this place for anyone really. There’s a place for you, wether it be the casino, tellers bar and brasserie, charlie parkers pain room, or the club, you won’t be disappointed!
