I’m not the biggest fan of Victoria Road in general, but if you had to have a drink here, then the Pandora is porbably the best bet. It’s got the same fairly traditional décor you’d expect in a brewery-owned locals’ pub, along with a few food and drink offers and a slightly older clientele. Unlike some of the other pubs in the area, it doesn’t feel rough at all, though I’m not sure if that changes on a busy weekend.

This is very much a local’s pub: I have been for the karaōke a few times, but have never dared to get up and sing. But of all the pubs on Victoria road, this one is the most welcoming, with booths and glass windows that almost let you see out into the street. It has a cheap menu too, featuring pub grub favourites at good prices: certainly worth a day time visit. During the week, it is quiet without lacking atmosphere: even at the weekends it never becomes hellishly busy. It has a good reputation in the area– a quiet crowd of respectable, older drinkers.
