Stumbled into this place early on a Sunday morning, jetlagged and miserable after an overseas flight. Staff gave us a quiet table in the back, served us wonderful flat whites and eggs Benedict with black pudding, and then they gave us handwritten directions to the favorite sights in Glasgow. This was a wonderful way to start our trip.

Excellent breakfast spot, fab eggs Benedict and black pudding, sourdough and eggs also tasty. Small place but fortunately did not have to wait.

Pulled pork eggs benedict. Let me just repeat that… PULLEDPORKEGGSBENEDICT! Does food get much better than this? Well… if you add some Stornaway black pudding then yes, yes it does. Visiting here for some brunch on a Sunday morning I spotted this dish up on the specials board and didn’t even have to look at the menu. Perfectly poached eggs with bright orange yolks, melt in the mouth barbecue pork with just hint of heat on a toasted English muffin. The wife ordered scrambled eggs on toast with avocado. I ate half of that too. I am not even ashamed. Wilson Street Pantry also sell Papercup coffee so I ordered a cappuccino. This is the smoothest cup of coffee I have ever had, and I have a slight caffeine addiction. So good in fact that I ordered a second cup to wash it down.

One of the best place for brunch in Glasgow — i had eggs benedict which were perfect, and also scones and pastries are delicious and you can really notice they are homemade! One of my fav places!

I have wanted to try this place for ages after looking at all the 5 star reviews and I’m glad to say it didn’t disappoint. I visited with my boyfriend on Friday morning and it was pretty busy. I can imagine at the weekend it would be quite hard to get a table at lunch time. The interior of the place is lovely and I always like to see an open kitchen as it guarantees the food is freshly made. The menu is quite small but there is a good mix of choices, some of which were quite interesting and a change from the usual brunch dishes served elsewhere. I couldn’t look past the parma ham and feta on sourdough and I paid extra to add 2 poached eggs to the dish. My boyfriend went for scrambled eggs on toast and added link sausage. I had an iced latte and he had breakfast tea. My latte was lovely, although the glass was pretty small for £3. The food arrived pretty quickly and my dish looked amazing. It was a really large portion(which suited me fine) and they were generous with the amount of ham and feta. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the addition of pesto was a nice twist. My boyfriend was also very pleased with his dish, although he did comment on the fact that it only came with one slice of toast. Apart from this, the meal was perfect and I can’t wait to come back and try other dishes.

So I’ve been in twice now, once with Unilocal’s brunch club and once again recently for cake and coffee. Both times the food was nice(though the coffee wasn’t great on my second visit) and the service extremely friendly. Here’s why I will never eat there again: I watched our server go outside, sit down on the ground and allow two dogs to jump all over him and lick his face and hands as he gave them pets. Then he came back inside and filled up two water jugs(the ones used to fill glasses at every table in the restaurant). Then he took some glasses of water outside to the dog’s owner. Then he came back in, rinsed a dish in the sink, wiped on his just dog-covered apron and took it outside(later realized it was an ashtray — not so bad.) Then he just kept going… without ever washing his hands! Then I saw another server pick up the water jugs, so now she unknowingly had dog drool on her, and she was serving food in the next step. Just… ugggghh. I like dogs and all, but watching this waiter’s behaviour post-dog cuddle was like watching a virus spread. I was really grossed out by this and wouldn’t trust food service in there to be sanitary. Shame, really!

I was really looking forward to trying out The Wilson Street Pantry. It’s an adorable little café, and the menu looked promising. My tea was served in a lovely black pot with demerrera sugar cubes. It was all very instagram worthy, and my hopes were high. Sadly, when my eggs benedict arrived, I was disappointed. My muffin was so tough, I practically had to saw through it to cut it. My poached egg was overcooked and the yolk was completely solid. It was a big let down. It was a beautiful meal to look at but a disappointment to actually eat.

Been meaning to check this place out for a while and so glad I finally have. I love the décor inside. The staff are lovely and welcoming to I’ve only ever been for breakfast but what a breakfast it was. I’ve tried a few things on their menu, the scrambled eggs on toast is one of the best I’ve had and the black pudding is definitely the best I’ve ever had, it’s perfect. I also love the lemon type dressing they use on the avocado, it has a lovely flavour. I highly recommend the French toast with berries and mascarpone. I’m a bit fussy when it comes to coffee and I wasn’t overwhelmed with the first cup I had here but it’s grown on me. Definitely recommend

I’ve been back to Wilson Street Pantry so many times now that this review definitely deserves an update! I’ve tried a lot of the menu now and I have to say — they’ve yet to disappoint me. As I like to use this as a working space, I normally just have tea and cake while I’m here. The honey bergamot cake is a thing of beauty and probably one of my all-time-favourite cakes in Glasgow. I also love the brunch offerings and have even had eggs florentine as an afternoon snack. Win. They have ever-changing specials so make sure you check out the board before you order. In the summer they make their own lemonade which is perfect for anyone who is sick of fizzy drinks or sugar conscious. You can get a whole pitcher! The staff are warm and friendly. The place is comfortable and they don’t seem to mind if you pitch up for a few hours work(I always order excessively as I feel bad about working from cafes). Wilson St is definitely one of my Glasgow favourites and I always get really excited when someone else tries it out and loves it as much as I do! Parking: on the street, out the front if you’re lucky or park at King Street carpark and walk up. Kid friendly, great with dietary requirements and the loos are downstairs(with a disabled loo at the top of the stairs). They take Swipii card.

I am so late to the Wilson Street Pantry Party! Today, after a lovely morning shopping with my mum, she offered to take me for lunch and asked where I wanted to go. This was my immediate thought due to all the rave reviews — thanks Unilocalers! It was pretty busy but we were greeted warmly and got the last table for two straight away. We were immediately brought a glass of water and left to look over the menu. After very little deliberation I decided to go for the poached eggs hollandaise on Stornaway black pudding and an English muffin with my usual peppermint tea. The menu all looked delicious, but they had me at Stornoway black pudding. Yum! The food came quickly and was presented so well. I popped my poached egg and was delighted to see the golden yolk mix with the thin, creamy hollandaise and coat the rest of my meal. Perfect. The Stornoway black pudding was, honestly, the best I’ve ever eaten. It was cooked a little under well done, just the way I like it, and was absolutely packed with flavour. It had a beautiful hint of sweetness to it that made me keep eating even as I knew I was full. This really was one of the best brunches I’ve had in Glasgow. The peppermint tea was smooth, fresh and had no bitter after taste so it was a lovely accompaniment to quite a heavy brunch. The staff were really attentive without being pushy and the place really lit up thanks to the sun making a rare appearance. I’m kind of sad that it’s took me so long to visit, but now I know what I’ve been missing I doubt it’ll be long before I’m back.

We popped in for brunch having been attending to wedding plans all morning. We were seated and served promptly. We both had a flat white, which whilst a good quality strong coffee was only luke warm. I had poached eggs on muffins with Stornoway black Pudding and bacon with Hollandaise sauce. Almost a 5 star dish, however the bacon wasn’t crisp enough for my liking. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the black pudding was sublime. My other half ordered off the daily specials board and had Poached eggs with hot smoked salmon with Avocado on toasted sourdough. This was a 5 star dish. Eggs perfect, salmon delicious, avocado ripened to perfection with a small hint of pesto through the dish. Eggcellent value for a brunch of such high standard. Staff and Service was friendly and efficient even had a blether with the staff about their poached eggs technique. Could and should have been a 5 star vote, however whilst the coffee was lovely, it was served only Luke warm. I also think Bacon should be a little more crisp. I look forward to awarding the 5th star on next visit and I am interested in trying one of their bloody Mary’s.

After a rather mediocre lunch I stopped in here for a coffee and cake before heading to Work. The guys here are quite lovely, chatting away and friendly as you like Ordered a latte and carrot cake, had to take both latte back as they were luke warm, they were happy to do this however it’s not great I had to in the first place The carrot cake was also a little dry, which was disappointing as I chose it for its visual appeal, looking more moist than it was, had little dried out bits too, the same type you get if you cut a cake and leave it out in the air for awhile Seems like a nice venue, just didn’t hit the mark on my visit

Any sign that states«Papercup coffee sold here» will always catch my attention. Add to that the promise of poached eggs and Stornaway black pudding and I am sold. We headed here on a busy Saturday afternoon and half expected to be facing a lengthy wait, but we were seated straight away at the large table in the front window which we shared with three other groups. We ordered two coffees to get us going, and while we worked out what to order I noticed some of the food being brought. This removed all need for the menu and I duly mirrored a fellow diner in ordering the Eggs Benedict with a side portion of black pudding. Now, Eggs Benedict can be tasteless and bland because it is all based around the quality of the eggs and knowing if the hollandaise is genuinely home made, not«home made». The egg yolks were a rich orange and the hollandaise had a little touch of spice. It got hoovered. The portion sizes are good, without leaving you hungry, and there was an audible silence as we tucked into our breakfast. We finished proceeding with two spicy Virgin Marys. It would have been rude not to. As breakfasts go, it doesn’t get much better than this. If you haven’t been, you need to ask yourself some very serious questions about how you are choosing to utilise your free time.

I had the chance of try this place thanks to Unilocal monthy brunch club and I really like it. The have q huge variety of plates for brunch(+others apart for lunch), you can select sweet or salty dishes, they have healthy dishes and others more«calorics» let say. The staff was so helpful and in our case they recommend us some ideas to order. You can see how everything is cooking at the moment for you, which in my case is really important, not pre cooked. Thanks to Unilocal event, we got a granola tea cup as complementary, tasty! and I ordered a red tea and an avocado salty and smoked toast. It was delicious! Average per dish is 7£ which is good because they quantity is big and the quality is awesome!

Having come here for Brunch Club on Saturday, I now see why this place has bagged that elusive overall 5-star rating! I’d been wanting to go for ages but hadn’t managed it, and I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt as Brunch Club can often result in sheer panic for some businesses, being faced with anywhere between 12 and 20 hungry Unilocalers is certainly no walk in the park! But Wilson St Pantry didn’t disappoint! Brunch Club is quite possibly my favourite Unilocaly happening, and I had surveyed the menu a fair few times before it as I was determined not to just get Eggs Benedict as I usually do. I was pretty set on the French Toast with mascarpone and berries… until I set eyes on the specials board that is. Once I saw chorizo beans on toast with fried eggs I absolutely *had* to have it, and it turned out to be a very good choice indeed. I guzzled down a rather delicious cappuccino while I waited for my order, and we were also presented with wee complimentary samples of their granola with yoghurt and berry compôte. A lovely surprise and so tasty as well! Right. Chorizo beans. How am I meant to be able to eat normal beans now? They were so delicious and I can’t stop thinking about them. The sourdough toast and eggs went perfectly with them and the whole dish was just what I needed on a Saturday morning. The portion was a seriously decent size as well!(Which slightly scared me as I was going for lunch afterwards with my family, because I am a piggy. But have no fear, I managed a starter and dessert at lunch! …oh ok and a slice of Brother Debs’ pizza. Oink oink!) The staff were great and even brought over some buttery toast for Sarah M’s little one, Puff, without being asked to! They were just really thoughtful the whole time and made the experience that wee bit more special. I managed to resist getting a slice of cake(only due to the aforementioned brunch) but I’m already dying to come back! They absolutely deserve the official Brunch Club Seal of Approval, too :)

I’ve past Wilson street pantry so many time and every single time I think why have I not been there! Well I finally get round to going and now I understand why it is so busy. It was a late Saturday morning stop and we were extremely Lucky to get the last available table. The atmosphere in this place is really relaxing, you could be anywhere in the world. Immediately the waitress was over with some complementary water! And left us to digest the breakfast v lunch menu! Oh to have a lunch or should I go with a breakfast? I ordered the scrambled egg with salmon on sourdough. This was a very good choice in my opinion. It was huge, eggs were cooked in some sort of creamy-ness. The hot smoked salmon was a massive hit! Feeling slight stuffed. I finished off my OJ and watched the snow fall. The staff were extremely friendly although people had now started to form a Que. for a table the staff didn’t actually seem rush you for the table. They kept coming back and asking if we wanted a top up on coffee or tea! I could actually just sit all day and watch the world go by.

First Unilocal Brunch of the year, and an amazing choice of venue. It was my first time at The Wilson Street Pantry, well actually my first time on Wilson Street! Merchant City in general is one of those places in Glasgow I’ve not explored quite yet. But if this place is anything to judge it by, I will be heading to Merchant City a lot more! There is street parking just outside the café but one of the steepest charges in Glasgow, 60p for 12 minutes… so maybe park a little further away if you are staying longer than half an hour! The café feels fresh and clean with monochrome décor but not clinical. There was a lovely square communal table available to seat multiple parties of diners, but since there were around 20 of us we got two long tables which had already been arranged when we arrived. The staff were friendly and very accommodating to a large group ordering at different times, I couldn’t wait after seeing the pictures of their brunches! After bringing out our drinks they also brought complimentary tea cups of granola which was super yum! Just what I needed while waiting for my breakfast. The apple juice was crisp and tangy and the latte, complete with bunny art, is apparently the best in the city. I ordered Eggs Benedict with extra link sausages and they put the Hollandaise sauce in a little jug as requested. The quality was extraordinary. The best poached eggs I’ve ever had, even the sausages were up the with the best. Very little fat and cooked perfectly. Despite feeling so satisfied by the brunch, I couldn’t resist trying one of their cakes they had on display. After much deliberation I opted for the Honey and Bergamot slice, and I’m very pleased I did. The waitress advised that it’s a new slice they just got in and I have to say I hope they keep it on the menu! It was moist and light, yet still chewy with a delectable crunch to the glaze on top of the slice. Just perfect. I have nothing critical to say about this place. In total for two big brunch meals, two lattes, two juices, a coke and a cake slice it came to £27 which is very reasonable considering the location and quality of the food. Definitely give this place a try if you’re in the area!

After watching the multitude of high scoring Unilocal reviews roll in, I was very keen to give this place a try. Yesterday morning when we went along it was absolutely mobbed, but we got lucky timing wise and a wee table became available which we grabbed. The menu looked lovely, it had a mixture, breakfast, brunch and lunch items. There was also several coffee styles and drinks on offer. I went with a flat white(paper cup coffee) which was great and then just drank the free water they supplied as soon as you sat down. On the food front I went a bit crazy as I ordered the bacon Benedict with three different sides of link sausage, black pudding and toast. I finished it all(obviously) but I was stuffed and did not need to eat again until 8pm! Everything was cooked to perfection apart from the bacon which was just slightly to crispy for me, but it was still tasty and alongside the epic eggs and sauce I hardly noticed. The food here is really good, the décor and atmosphere is cool & modern and sight of snow slowly falling outside whilst we ate made for a lovely brunch date with Trudie M. Definitely the best place for brunch in the merchant city. I will be back soon, hopefully I manage to beat the crowds and get a table again.

I suggested coming here after seeing all the rave reviews. There was practically a full house when we got there but we managed to get seated thankfully. There was a plug point behind us and wifi to use. So this was a perfect set up for our laptop meet up. I got Peppermint Tea that came in a teapot and I ordered the Florentine Egg Benedict. The poached egg was not runny, but it was delicious all the same. It was a lovely dish and well presented. There was one point my eyes started streaming and I had to go down to the loo to sort my panda eyes. When I came back up my friend said the same happened to her, and that they were chopping chillies and onions. I guess that’s the downside of being seated so close to the kitchen area!

First time here which is shameful as it’s been getting great reviews since day 1. A light brunch was on the cards and after being warmly greeted — caveat, one of the staff is a very good friend — and shown to our table the first order of the morning was CAFFEINE! One flat white and a pot of tea ordered, we perused the menu and it didn’t take long for me to choose(mostly because I’d already kinda decided before I got there). One bacon roll for Kirsty, and the avocado on toast for me, plus some poached eggs. The coffee — beans provided by Papercup — was perfect. Smooth blend, creamy and dark, it was so good I had two! The food was fab, and whilst it wasn’t the most challenging dish, the eggs were poached well, the avocado was perfectly ripe and the sourdough bread gave it all a nice savoury hint. Drops of lemon oil added a nice zing to it as well. Price wise is was pretty reasonable, and there is a nice relaxed casual atmosphere that I really liked. Upmarket without being snobby, and all of the staff were helpful, friendly and fast on their feet! Fab stuff, I only wish I was in the area more often!
