A dark, basement drinker with a decent looking pool table. Given the general older age of the crowd that were in you have to wonder if the music selection was chosen to fulfill a cliché or if it was genuinely appreciated, taking the largely sedate postures into consideration. Decent for a quick couple of scoops as a pit-stop.

Underground bar is a nice place for a beer before going somewhere else. It has a nice atmosphere and the music is generally good. I’ve been only twice but I did enjoy it when I went, and didn’t find it specially expensive, just an average price for a pint.

Very friendly fun gay bar for bears and all sorts. Brilliant karaōke nights which can get crowded. Great drag act hosting.

Like the name suggests, this is a basement bar — every time I pass by it I end up humming Jamiroquai’s Deeper Underground. I’ve been in here a few times and would have to say it’s one of the more diverse gay bars I’ve been in — it’s friendly and has a really wide age range. Music is great — again, very varied. Drag Queen karaōke was a revelation to me the first time I saw it — it’s awesome fun! Although I’ve yet to hear a remotely in tune singer :) It’s not particularly expensive either — a couple of beers for £7.40 It’s becoming a regular hangout…

We visited here under the recommendation of our waitress where we ate this evening. She said it was the place to go to hang out before the nightclub opened. She was spot on. This neighborhood bar felt a lot like our neighborhood bar back in Seattle. A bunch of people meet each other to laugh, drink, and catch up on the week before heading out to whatever nightclub or other event they will be attending that night. There were all kinds of different people here, all friendly. We certainly felt like we fit in and felt welcome and if we were to be in Glasgow over a period of time we would probably make this our neighborhood bar as well.

I used to visit Revolver Bar a lot because I had made friends on the pool table. If you are a foreigner, gay people there wouldn’t talk to you at all until you’ve been there regular enough. People seem to have their own group of friends and comfort zone. Music can be great sometimes on Saturday but no one dances. It is more for local regulars to meet and chat, rather than a welcome place for foreign visitors. Actually none of the gay bars or clubs in Glasgow gives a welcome feeling for foreign visitors at all, like either they are too shy or foreign gays are totally another species.

What can I say about Revolver! It’s an awesome bar!!! Staff are really friendly, and the customers definately are the most«drama-free» of the gay scene. It’s a welcoming bar, with great background music during the day and then even some Karaōke with Audrey on a Tuesday, and loads of DJs all week!!! On a Saturday we’ve even got a Drag Queen during the day with bingo! Only fault with Revolver is it’s slightly over-priced drink — but I think there is many a concession that can be made for the attitude-free nature!

Revolver definitely has a more up to date and original take on the gay scene and is one of my favourite gay bars. There are pool tables, free wifi, exceptionally friendly staff and the best juke box I have ever had the pleasure of browsing through! All of this adds up to a very relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere. The music played here is great and a lot more varied than most gay bars. I think this definitely helps draw an older, more sophisticated crowd. You can expect to hear everything from britpop and indie to eurotrash and electropop, and that’s only from the resident DJs, the jukebox is even better!

I walked down the stairs to Revolver and not one single male head turned. Hurt and frankly, shunned by this, i went to the bar and ordered a double Gin and Tonic to wallow in my ugliness with. I visited the bar with my GAY friend Mark. We were going to popular GAY club Polo Lounge afterwards, on Glasgow’s self professed GAY night, a Wednesday. Still, the connotations didn’t click, until i was approached by a lovely young lady, who’s head i had most certainly turned. I felt a wee bitty daft. As you may have guessed, Revolver is one of Glasgow’s many Gay bars, just off the affluent Merchant City area. The bar itself is tastefully decorated and houses a digital jukebox(which is free to use) and a pool table, which we made good use of. The staff are friendly and chatty, and drinks pretty reasonably priced. The bar is also proudly owned and operated by gay managers which perhaps gives them the edge over other, overtly commercialised bars. Definitely worth a trip, a brilliant wee place to start off an evening!

The rather wonderful Revolver has been part of Glasgow’s scene for many years, and has the most sophisticated jukebox in the city. The rumour is that it was designed by the owners, and offers a really cool selection. Most nights, the bar is busy– a slightly older crowd, but still hip and with a concentration on good prices and wide range of alcohol. However, I often slip down the stairs during the day, when it is quiet but still sociable. I am a big fan of the slightly austere décor, the coffee and the friendly bar staff. It is one of the few bars that I like to take my sister to, in Glasgow, as it feels very safe and open. Besides, it seems to be the sort of place where my physique isn’t a total abomination.
