This shop is bright, shiny and new. You can almost smell the plastic wrapping — or is that just me? The staff are super friendly and will be with you within seconds of walking into the store. They have an impressive knowledge and great customer service skills. As Catriona has said, the service is über quick and you won’t need to wait long for service or products. To be honest, I really cannot complain about anything in here. Yet… since wearing goggles from the age of fourteen, I have nearly always went to my local, family optician. Hence, I am more than a little sentimental about it and felt a little like a cheater heading for newer, chain-owned waters. While, I hang my head in shame, you should pop in and see the chain-owned greatness for yourself. Maybe, when my person optician closes up shop…

I first started wearing glasses when I was studying abroad and so having never been to an opticians in Glasgow before, I wasn’t really sure where to go when I realised I needed new lenses. In the end I opted for Vision Express at the top of Byres Road, mainly because of its convenient location but also because the shop was new and shiny and I quite liked their adverts on TV. It was a good choice. I visited one wet, weekday morning and was immediately impressed with the friendliness of the receptionist and my optometrist who both gave me excellent advice on lenses and frames. I was concerned about being without my only pair of glasses as it was during my exams, and time was precious. Luckily however, my type of lenses were available in store and so I only had a short 20 minutes to wait to pick them up(and what a good excuse to treat yourself to a coffee in Heart Buchannan next door while you wait).
