Love this place, nestles near the hustle and bustle of Buchanan street just around from topshop. We have been about 3 or 4 times and never disappointed. The portions are huge and the food delicious. Authentic Giros that take me right back to Greece. Service always friendly and polite and if you don’t book they will try and squeeze you in. I have had the moussaka and that is also authentic. The mezze starter of bread and your choice of dips is a meal in itself and everyone is scrumptious, I can’t remember the name of the chicken one but it is divine. Highly recommend.

Delicious Greek restaurant doing very good lunch/pre theatre deals as well as a la carte. Ideal city centre location but away from all the madness, had a great, relaxed meal here during the Games. Nice ambience, friendly helpful staff and delicious food. Not too stingy with the portion sizes either. Meals were tasty, would definitely recommend a visit.

Cheers! Apparently Yiamas in Greek. My uncle loves Greek food, he spends a lot of time in Crete and so it’s often on the menu when he’s in town. I’ve been here before, once when it had just opened, I remember it as being ok, but bright, very bright and really quiet. This time though, on a Sunday lunchtime(!) it was busy, very busy. It must be doing pretty well I think. I can understand that, it is I suppose Greek homestyle cooking. It’s a plain place, with quite basic café furnishings, but also an open kitchen where there is plenty of animated chatter and intriguing food preparation. The service is friendly and personable, and the food is amongst the better Greek experiences in Glasgow, also as a Gavin bonus it comes in really large portions!

The best place for Greek food I’ve ever had outside of Greece. Being Greek myself, I know what Greek food looks and tastes like. Yiamas is the best place to eat for Greek food. It’s one of the best restaurants in Glasgow. You can get a Gyro to take away, something I always dreamed about for years in Glasgow before this restaurant opened. 5 stars and if I could give it 10 then I would.

I went to Yiamas today for lunch as we noticed the £6.95 lunch deal — 2 courses. We both had Dolmades for a starter(served with Tsatziki) and a Stuffed tomato(served with salad and freshly-made herby chips) The service was prompt(although we were eating lunch late by Scottish standards — 2.45pm — and so the place was empty), the food was quick to arrive and delicious, and the décor was simple and unpretentious. I can’t wait to go back and sample the rest of the menu. Highly recommended!

I was in a meaty kinda mood and when I get like that I usually head to a Greek or Persian restaurant for my fix. Tucked away on Bath Street just round the corner from the hustle and bustle of Buchanan Street sits this newly opened family run business. At fist sight, it didn’t look all that inviting, perhaps a bit barren and empty even, with just the odd smattering of funky artwork on the wall and some rather plain and sad looking furniture. We arrived at 7pm and it was rather quiet with the stereo playing some Greek pop music. Fortunately after a half hour of so, the atmosphere picked up as the restaurant got busier. The menu looked good, with a range of hearty looking Greek grub, but I didn’t really know what I wanted, it just had to contained grilled meat. So, I just asked for the traditional Greek Meze, which is a set meal and very popular in Greece. Surprisingly they didn’t offer it, but the owner said it wouldn’t be a problem to whip up his favourite dishes and do us a Meze style banquet for us. We polity accepted and waited for the food to arrive. We were treated to some really fantastic dishes. To kick things off; Saganaki Prawns, made with feta cheese and a deliciously rich and tasty tomato sauce. I think we polished off a couple of baskets of bread mopping up the splendid sauce. Furthermore, a wonderfully seasoned and fresh Greek salad and some grilled cheese with tomato and peppers. The main dished comprised of Gyros, which is a pork style kebab, delicious, and skewered, charcoal grilled lamb and chicken with the house’s fresh, hand-cooked chips, yum! It fair to say, after all that meat, I spiralled into a deep meat-coma and was unresponsive to any form of chat or questions, hence agreeing to a desert when asked by the waitress. I went for the wonderful and rich Greek yoghurt with honey and walnuts to really finish me off. Fortunately our lovely meal meal wasn’t ruined by Greek dancing nor the sound of smashing plates. This was an initial concern of mine as the restaurant is certainly big to accommodate this. Credit should also go to the father /daughter combo who work tirelessly in the kitchen and in attending to the customers needs quickly and with a smile. Oh, one more thing… if your ever in town and fancy a tasty snack they do a wrapped Gyros to go for just £3.95, total bargain!
