I’m going to start this review off by quoting the pubs website as it really hits the nail on the head: «With so many pubs falling at the hands of the big pub companies and with every last piece of traditional charm being strangled out of them, we hope that you’ll join us to celebrate the Great British pub the way it should be.» Excellent! This place is located right opposite the huge village green and really makes an effort to look after its locals and new customers alike. They have a fantastic menu here and do offer some excellent seafood dishes. The last time I ate there I had the plaice and it was fantastic. The quiz runs every Thursday night and gets a really good turnout so if you fancy yourself as the brainy type, the locals I’m sure will be happy to let you join in.

Perched on the edge of the village green where cricket is played every weekend, this family run, real ale pub offers a beautiful beer garden and down to earth pub grub. Many generations of locals and passers-by flock to pause for a pint of Harveys to soak up village news — drop by once and you’ll be hooked; great village life watching, friendly atmosphere — farmers, city folk on their way home, retired, brighton media types escaping the smoke and even the odd celeb(Saatchi, Snowdon and Vinnie JOnes territory) this place gives everyone a warm welcome. Fantastic for some — there is no mobile reception! Arrive early for Sunday lunches all year round — rest of menu is basic.
