The Three Tuns Food House

Trio of lamb. This isn’t pub food, it’s not just restaurant food. It’s an absolute dream on a plate. I have eaten in Michelin starred restaurants that do worse food than this. Absolutely staggering.

Somewhat disappointed with my experience here last night. I had a starter of haggis bubble and squeak with duck egg. As Haggis is one of the two main ingredients it should really feature more than it did. The flavour of the bubble and squeak did nothing to suggest there was haggis in it at all so what was the point? Second course was Truffle Mac & Cheese. Now I’ve had this dish before in other restaurants and I know how delicious it can be but once again I have to ask where was the truffle because I couldn’t taste it. Again, even the cheese flavour was too mild to make it tasty. I have a sense that this place knows what to put on the menu that peaks foodies interests but then they either slyly don’t add the ingredient at all thinking they can get away with that or in such tight fisted quantities that it proves pointless. On the upside the service was great. Friendly and responsive.

Best food in Henley. Friendliest staff in Henley. Good pubby building and live music and comedy in the barn.

Have previously reviewed this place when I wasn’t terribly impressed. However credit where credit’s due: I came here last night and had the Jamaican jerk lamb shank with rice and peas. Just divine! The meat fell off the bone and was beautifully flavoursome. The Shiraz was good too. Might venture out here again!

Love this place for some quiet beers. Great for sitting infront of the fire during winter afternoons. Good beer, well kept.
Food is ok. had some great things and some not so great things. In comparison with almost all other pubs food though it is fresh and home cooked, so far better than your average spot.
