Old-fashioned hotel in a nice city. Located next to the river, this is a great start to visit the Loch Ness. Be careful, due to some works on the road, the access might be difficult. However, there is a parking next to the hotel. if you arrive at 18:00, the pparking will be free until 08/09:00. Wifi, nice breakfast but the price was to expensive in my opinion. Be careful again, do not accept to pay in EUR as the rate will be probably more expensive.

SMALLESTROOMEVER! I feel like I’m staying in the Barbie Dream House. It’s 2:40 a.m. and so noisy i can’t sleep. The bed is not level so it feels like I’m going to fall out of bed. I do not recommend staying at this hotel.

Wow. What a disappointment. The room came with no luggage rack had to put on on floor the other on top of chair. The tv was just taller than a beer bottle. Our second night they did not leave soap or shampoo. The food in the restaurant was very bland.

On first glance, it’s very nice — the reception area is traditional looking and kept up well, and the staff was very nice. The rooms are very cute, as well. They are modern and attractive, with completely redecorated bathrooms. So why the low rating? Two reasons — the beds and dinner. The beds are AWFUL! I could feel every spring attacking me most of the night. Also, we’re here with a large group and had dinner in the hotel. It was really substandard all around — the meat was tough, the veggies were dead, the bread was very cold. I wish they lived up to their new décor.

Ordered the Scottish Sirloin on prix fixe dinner menu. Medium rare, was told it was grilled. Came out gray on exterior and no red or even pink in middle. Had to work at cutting with steak knife. Sent it back, declined another. Only had appetizer and dessert. Was charged for the entire meal except for the seven pounds upcharge for steak. Rotten deal all around.

What a total surprise! I came back to Inverness ready to hit the Rocpool or the fine Seafood restaurant I went to last time, but the former is shut on a Sunday, and the latter has gone altogether! So, what to do. I am staying at the Columba hotel near the bridge on Ness Walk, so I did a quick internet search and found nothing that enticed, so I decided to explore the fare here in the hotel and I discovered that not only do they have a very nice bar/bistro area overlooking the Castle, but that the food was GREAT! I had the King scallops with Chorizo salad and a balsamic reduction for starters, and Butternut squash with asparagus, roasted cherry tomatoes and shaved parmesan for main course. Both were delicious! I also had a nice glass of Merlot to accompany my meal. There is NO evidence through an internet search other than a name, and even then it is alternately spelled Macnab and McNab, so I couldn’t have been more surprised! The space is modern with thick wooden tables and comfortable chairs and sofas to wait on if busy, and although they have TV’s showing music videos, the sound does not impose. I wonder what it would be like if excessively busy as I was there on a Sunday night, but the staff were very attentive and chatty, and the plethora of whiskeys could accomodate the most discerning Malt fan. The bar also had a number of lagers and severaal beers and ales. All round appeal! Definitely worth a visit!
