This review is of the Rotunda Satori — The food is not fresh. The sushi rice is NOT correct. Sushi rice is supposed to be fatter than usual rice and sticky… Satori’s ‘sushi rice’ is hard and brittle. I really had a terrible dinner there. I even wanted to leave before I had finished. It also had an unclean feeling to it. Satori is lame and a bad Japanese imposter!

There seem to be a lot of big-chain-pretend-to-be restaurants around, and this is one of them. This ones like Yo Sushi, but a bit more(unnecessarily) expensive. Tip: If you do ask for the unlimited green tea, it isn’t the same as the refills you get at Yo Sushi, here you get a tea bag that you’re expected to reuse. I’d taken my tea bag out and put it in my miso soup bawl not realising, and the waitress kindly put it back in my glass for me! Quality of the food is good, and you have a «call for service» button at your station where you sit, that seemed to work! All round A-OK.

I’ve promised my wife yesterday was our last visit to Satori. Both branches(The Rotunda or inside Bentalls). I have been on both places at least 4⁄5 times but unfortunately every single visit we had problems. Average food for an expensive price, poor presentation, very slow and confused staff and always I mean always had to complain about wrong charges on my bill. Don’t go there.

My first sushi round-about! and boy was it fun(and a bit pricey) right off the tube stop at Knightsbridge, we stopped here for a late lunch. I absolutely LOVE sushi, and this was a fun experience! You sit around a converyor belt that is constantly rotating with various types of sushi. You choose what you’d like and just take it off the belt. We had some interesting & unique pieces, as well as a seaweed salad & dessert. YOu can also place an order for just about anything off the menu.

Pretty average sushi, not so average prices. Some of the conveyor dishes were nice enough, but not exactly packed with flavour or freshness, which is surprising, as they’re made right there. A good quick meal if you’re waiting to see a film at the Odeon, but I wouldn’t visit especially for Satori, frankly.

My wife and I are great fans of Japanese food, and have been here often. The quality of the individual dishes varies from average to excellent though never bad enough to put us off. We once tried a platter(rather than relying on the conveyor belt) and it was delicious. We will return which I guess says a lot. Reasonable value for money.

Sushi and Japanese restaurant which is based in the ‘Rotunda’ in KIngston Upon Thames. The rotunda is where the cinema, gym and other restaurants are based. This place does pretty good sushi which is all made in house. Their handrolls and teriyaki beef are really good. I do think it is a bit expensive, but I think Sushi is in general. This is ok for a quick bite before the cinema or after a film, but not for a longer length meal. The seating is all like a bar so you sit next to each other rather than opposite so its hard to chat to each other. Food is pretty good though and service is always fast and efficient. I would go here again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to arrange a meal here.

I was happy when this sushi place opened a couple of years ago. Convenient, I thought, when I wanted a quick, healthy snack. I’ve eaten there on many occasions… The first time I visited I found the welcome warm, friendly and informative. The sushi was decent but not the best I’ve tasted. It was good enough for me to return but I admit I don’t rush there with quite so much enthusiasm. On several visits, in the early afternoon, I found the sushi tasted a little tired; I guess it had probably revolved for a little too long on the conveyor belt. If you want a very reasonably-priced lunch pay close attention to the colour coded plate charges or your bill can climb faster than you might expect. Admittedly though, if you do opt — intentionally or not — for the more lavish plates the food is often commensurately more interesting and tastier. If feasible, I’d award it three and a half stars…
