I very nearly gave this place a Meh, I’ve experienced better two stars because it is just another lunch place among many but it does stand out from the rest for the freshly baked and delicious bread. The place itself is quite dark and scattered with odd pictures of Leeds in black frames. It is not a place to sit in really but as it was raining we did. If you are close by get some lunch but don’t go out of your way to try it.

called in to Appetite for a bite of breakfast and rather enjoyed the experience. Although not the cheapest or the biggest breakfast in Leeds it was OK although I do wish the chef wouldn’t assume I like my mushrooms smothered in pepper. The toast here is amazing, it comes in big, freshly sliced hunks that make up for the smaller size of the rest of the breakfast. If I were to be picky(and I am) the sausage was a let down. It was reassuring that, when asked what they could offer that was gluten free, they could provide salad which is just what everyone would want for breakfast.

For food on the go, sometimes you want some comforting fast food, a quick hearty egg sarnie or a nice bulging bap of stodge. The latter isn’t me being rude, it’s just a fact! Other times, you want something a bit different to that but still quick and easy. That’s where Appetite comes in. Tucked away in the heart of business suits and urban living apartments, it provides a good trade for those wanting to take on the working day with a great starting breakfast or breaking it up with a tasty lunch. It’s sandwiches Jim, but not as you know them. Well perhaps it is how you know them but they are mighty good. Take on the fully loaded full breakfast head on if you really need some gas for your tank or the fruit salad is yummy for those wanting to watch the waste line a bit more. For me though, it’s the lunch menu that really appeals. Take your pick from delights such as tzatziki, goat’s cheese, roast duck or sun blushed tomatoes. Mix in some scrumptious bread, from olive bread to wraps, ciabatta to granary and you are pretty much onto a winner. You can also jacket potato it up, grab a freshly made soup or enjoy the tasty salad boxes, done how you like them and with a bit more interest than a dollop of iceberg, beef tomato and cucumber. Hungry and bored tummies need apply here

Appetite make a damn good sandwich! When i worked down near the river this was by far the best sandwich shop in the area. It was the place to go for your friday afternoon treat. You can choose from an array of breads and fresh ingrediants to make your own salad or sandwich, or select one of the yummy specials from the board. Prices are around £2.50-£4.00 but definately worth the money.
