I really like this Barratt’s store if my shopping for some casual shoes. They have always got discounts going on through out any season. The first shoe that i bought here is Caterpillar shoes. I am a great fan of caterpillar shoes for their durability, rugged yet stylish look. I almost used them for an year throughout my uni at leeds. i even got some good quality handbags at reasonable prices for my familyi would highly recommend to stop & shop at barratts for some cool casual shoes.

The winter boot search was well and truly on. Having failed to find a sensible, waterproof, flat, decent looking boot so far in Leeds I was thinking of sacking off the whole search and just wearing some wellington boots. At least I would have dry feet. I didn’t have much faith in Barratt fixing this for me, but spied what I imagined to be the perfect pair in their window display. Black, check, waterproof, check, nice, check! So I went in. I very nearly got distracted by a hoard of other non-essential pretty shoes, such as some lovely jade suede heels, but was put back to the real mission by my boyfriend. I asked the lady if she could show me those lovely ones in the window in a size five please. She said I should ask for them upstairs, in the *cough* children’s section. Hrmph. So the one pair of reasonable, sensible, decent boots I could find were children’s boots. Unhappy me. I went up and luckily they go up to a size 5 in kiddy shoes. I tried them on and they were comfy so I thought I’d just go for it. £25 they were. For an adult that is pretty good, but for kids shoes? Man alive! Pretty expensive. Thankfully I am not a child. As for the boots, the still look cool and have survived a good 2 months so far. One major problem is that they are a bit lethal on any shiny/wet surface. Be it rainy pavement, icy road or indeed waxen floor I am sure to fall flat on my behind unless I concentrate real hard at walking. And no one should have to use brain power to walk, surely. So, again, I worry for the kids. But still. Can’t judge them on one pair of children’s boots. Overall, they offer a large range of pretty looking shoes and boots. Prices tend to reflect quality — extra medium all the way. So not amazing, but not awful either. And the boots have kept my feet dry at the very least, so I’m happy about that.

I think this is good for cheap shoes, I picked up some cute flats there for £30 and they are still going strong a good 2 years later which is way longer than I’d expected or even hoped for! They are really comfy and a good fit(and I am a size 7 ladies). The staff are really nice and I have bought quite a lot of shoes from Barratt which must mean I like them because I never repeat my business if I don’t like them. One thing I would say is don’t get flip flops from there, you can get them cheaper elsewhere, and they are exactly the same, same labels etc for up to £10 difference which is a lot(a whole other pair of shoes, or a top!) Shop around, but if you want a reliable pair of flats, office shoes or something a bit sparkly for a special event, then go to Barratts as you won’t be disappointed on choice, quality or price.

This Barratts is quite a large store, and has two floors; the upstairs section is children’s shoes, the downstairs is adults. It is well situated on Commercial Street, at the bottom of Land’s Lane. There is a wide selection of different types of shoes, and bags. They carry branded shoes such as Hush Puppies and Lee. The prices are reasonable, and there are often sales on, with good reductions. The staff are friendly, and know their jobs well so they are able to help with shoe choices.
