Ok as you may have guessed I’m a bit of a sneakerhead. I love my footwear I do. I love exclusives as they make me feel special. Sad but true. Footlocker are bang on trend for designs and styles, especially with the American feel shoes, there’s lots of bright badass shoes, and there’s the more urbanised street styles. Also, this being January and sale season, there are some awesome deals to be had on styles that were full whack and a bit on the pricey side prior to the Christmas period. Friend and I went in a couple of weeks ago for a birthday gift, and they had one of the styles we were after in the correct size, but not the other. Thinking«awh bummer gonna have to stick to the one option» we were both really impressed by the staff, who informed us that if we had enough time until the birthday we could order the shoe in the appropriate size if it was still on the footlocker ordering database. How nice was that?! We were also informed that in future if there was anything that wasn’t out on display in the size or style, to grab a member of staff and see if it could be ordered into the store, at no charge and no requirement to buy. If it didn’t fit, or it didn’t look as cool as you thought it did on the footlocker website there was no obligation to make a purchase. Awesome. Plus as it was ordered into the store, there was a reliability of delivery, no delivery charge, and no worry of how to return it if it wasn’t just perfect. It’s always nice when staff make the effort to go the extra mile, and I guess it restores the faith in human decency again. The staff in general in the Commercial Street Footlocker are really nice, and someone always asks you if you need help without being overbearing or commission hounding. The only bug bear I ever have in chain stores is when you actually make purchase of a pair of sneakers, and you get the footwear care sale presentation. I know they have targets, and it’s never overly pushed in that obnoxious sense, it just irks me, and I know it’s not their fault.
