This is the shop to come to for medicine, toileties and all things nice smelling. AND theya re currently(and probably every xmas season) doing 3 for 2 on loads of stuff! Mix and match all you want. Boots is no longer a quick in and out as you will always catch your eye on something else you want. The 3 for 2 may not be all year round but they always have offesr on stuff. The pharmacy has nice staff too, happy to give advice adn spend time talking to you rather than rushing you along for the sake of the querue when you are unwell. Thumbs up.

What can’t you get in Boots would be the better question?! Well, yeh exactly that. You can get your toiletries, your smellies, your deodorants, your hair products your shampoos, conditioners, gels, spritzes and mouses. You can get your pills, your sprays, your rubs, your creams, your patches, plasters, medicines. Also your baby gifts, your baby clothes, nappies and milks and food and toys. You can get your aftershaves your perfumes, your body lotions, your make up, your make up removers, face washes, night creams, day creams, lotions, potions, polishes, tweezers, brushes, blenders. Protein shakes, low fat shakes, diet plans, vitamins, whey powders, that’s not forgetting, photography, cameras, photo albums, cameras, picture frames and the many things I’m sure I’ve forgotten… PRESCRIPTIONS! Can’t forget those now can we. We’ve all forgotten to put them in and need a late night pharmacy and lucky for us most of the Boots outlets do offer a midnight pharmacy which can be a life saver in times of need. Boots staff by and large are often charming and helpful and know how to work out the damn points card, and will point you in the way of offers or combinations of offers and how to get the best deals possible.

I used to love Boots as a kid, though now I’m not sure why. I think it was the sheer variety of their range of goods, the feeling that you might stumble upon almost anything while browsing away. That feeling is mostly gone: Boots these days is really about a few closely focused product types. Cosmetics and personal care, food, vitamins/pharmaceuticals, their opticians chain, small electrical and gift lines Have I missed anything? Their sandwiches are good and not outrageously priced, about the only thing that isn’t, I think. I guess if you have a Vantage card it’s okay because you’re picking up points, but really, prices here are having a laugh. The vitamins especially can be outrageous, e.g. a tenner for something not especially obscure, maybe just a fancy pack of multivitamins with glitzy packaging. Most personal care(deodorants, ladytime items, cosmetics etc.) are cheaper at Superdrug or any supermarket. One to miss.

Close to the bus station and corn exchange this Boots is situated on the edge of the Kirkgate market. A reasonable sized shop with a downstairs section for electrical beauty etc. There is a pharmacy and then a seperate till. I tend to find that this shop has a good clearance section which is normally set at the side of the skincare just before you get to the cosmetics. I sometimes find that the staff on the till can be a little snotty and not very helpful though :(
