It has been so long, too long since I ventured into a chippie so when I saw the shining lights of Coe’s and the queue I was moved to enter and purchase a hefty portion.
The fish and chip smell bobbed up and down the cold streets being capped in by lack of air movement. Others drew closer. I queued, I waited until the crowning moment of my chips being handed over in a neatly wrapped bundle warming my cold hands. Others walked off with their well battered fish whilst I munched away at my little lot. I say little, it was a sizeable portion and worth those few pence I paid. Another good chippy to add to the list.
