A simple little pub in the middle of Rawdon. Under new management it’s popular with locals and students on most weeknights and with families passing through on weekends. With benches outside, it’s a great place to catch the afternoon sun with a cold one. Onto the important part, the beer is cheap, very cheap… With the local lager costing around 160p, it’s a great way to spend a fiver. Word of warning:
Don’t be fooled by the relaxed frivolity in this pub on an evening. When students have gone home, there are curious and downright oddball characters in here during the day and most wouldn’t look out of place in a Stephen king novel. Cheap and cheerful.
