I think sometimes as a business Greggs gets a poor rep! Yes it’s majority unhealthy stuff, and yes it’s all beige or beigey browny stuff. And yes sometimes the staff grunt at you more than actually speaking to you, and when they do speak to you they use the word«love» more than is actually necessary, but when it comes down to it, where else can you get a decent chow down savoury and sweet for under £1.50. The Boar Street Greggs, is a bit grim in that it seems to be secreted away somewhere, and there’s always a bit or argy bargy coming in or getting out of it but it’s alright. Gregg’s Cheese and Onion pasties are some of the nicest I’ve ever chowed down on, which often garners looks of surprise, although the West Cornwall Cornish Pasty place is definitely up there, it’s just too big and a bit pricey when all you want is quick scran on the go. Plus I’m an absolute sucker for the custard doughnut at Greggs, throw in a bottle of pop, and you’ve got a drink, a pasty and a pud for less than £2.50. Bargain
