Bless the effort, but High and Mighty is taking the Mickey on so many levels. And whilst I appreciate that they do cater to the high and the mighty, it seems they only really cater to the middle aged, and what isn’t middle aged is ridiculously expensive. Brand for Brand, you can pay £25 for a decent Animal T shirt in any high street that sells them, but here you can pay £40 for the same Tee. Hence my Mickey take label. Coming in here with a 20something boy of 6 foot 8, well, lets just say there’s not much for him to choose from. Not unless he wants to look like his granddad way before his tender years. Now I am not knocking middle aged fashion or people who have reached their middle years, buy you’da thunk, that if you were going to open a store catering specifically to all tall and large, then a wider range of age appropriate attire would have been nice. The good points, there’s a wide range of bases covered, every day trousers to the smarts, suits, t shirts, shirts, jackets etc, and for a tall boy with ridiculously long legs, this was a life saver. There aren’t many places that cater to a 38 inch leg length, but he really did pay the price, with a suit, not at all bespoke just shy of the £400 mark. Owch. Whilst we appreciate you exist, lower the prices and make them a bit more youth friendly.

This shop specialises in clothing for ‘big or tall men’. It’s nice to see a high street shop catering for sizes outside of the average range, as high street shops are usually quite limited. The range of sizes is pretty vast with trouser waists ranging from 32″ to 60″! The choice is good for men who like brand names like Ben Sherman, Lee Cooper and Animal with a quite an ‘average-bloke’ look of standard jeans, t-shirts, shirts and hoodies. They also sell formal wear and when I visited they even has a range of kilts on display. For someone who is used to cheap high street prices, the clothing at High and Mighty would seem on the expensive side, but for a bloke who is used to forking out for brand-name gear the prices shouldn’t be too much of a surprise. As Rachael mentions, for a man with a slightly quirkier dress sense this shop might seem quite limited… unless kilts are part of his day-to-day wardrobe!

High and mighty cater for ‘big or tall men’ and stock a wide range of designs from the likes of Animal, Ben Sherman and Henry Tudor. It’s quite a good shop as I’m sure there are many larger men who have problems finding clothes to fit, as do tall or larger ladies. A lot of the clothes however, do seem rather pricey. At £110 for a cord jacket, it seems like the company can take advantage of their position for providing a sought after service. For the man who likes to look a little quirky or stand out, I would not recommend this shop. It’s pretty run of the mill basic styles in a variety of colours.
