We recently contracted Homebase to install our kitchen. Their service for design was fine. They came out and did the measuring and planning. No problems there. The installer they sent out to do the installation did an excellent job. They did the install in 5 days and left it clean. We were really pleased. The only issue we have had is home base lost our loan documents and i’ve had to go into the store twice to sign the documents again so they could resend them. This didn’t delay the installation of the kitchen though and seems to have just been a fluke. Other than that we stop in here often for bits and bobs and they are always having sales and you can find some good deals. They also have a Laura Ashley store upstairs next to the kitchen/bathroom dept.

Having recently moved house my boyfriend and I wanted to grab a few of those awfully boring but essential bits that we needed. First on the list was a lawn mower, but other items included washing bins, shoe racks and other items that I can hardly bear to list for fear of sending you to sleep! So we entered Homebase, full of trepidation and instant boredom, to search for our bounty. It didn’t take us long to realise that, although there were a plethora of exciting bath mats and glittery lampshades, each of the things on our hit list were just slightly more than we had expected to pay. On the lawn mower front they seemed to have sold out of the basic range and we just couldn’t afford to splash out on such a dull item! It seems, in spite of all our efforts to remain keen, our spoors were coming up as duds and so we left to hunt on new terrain. The store itself has hundreds of useful things, and it can be a little overwhelming in some respects as it’s so full, but we decided whole-heartedly to chance it elsewhere. Nowt wrong wi’ the place, but just not our cup of tea. You could practically see the life glazing out of his eyes as we stepped further into the midst…
