Intro Hair is tucked away behind the busy shops and cafes of Hyde Park corner. It was a voucher bought for me by my boyfriend from Groupon stating that I could ‘find my own style with a cut and blow and Macademian hair treatment and a half head of highlights, low lights or a full head of tints’ all for £29.99(RRP £80) which brought me to Intro Hair. With the only review of Intro Hair being a tale of disaster I was very ominous entering the shop. However, I was greeted by very friendly staff who gave me a full consultation, advising me what style would suit as well as taking any suggestions I had. They supplied me with as many magazines as I could want and brought me a cup of tea while I waited for my foils to develop. The staff were friendly and chatty with a good sense of humor and the radio played current chart music making this hair salon perfect for any student. I was surprised that there was only myself and one other client having their hair done during the hour and a half I was there, although, various students came in to use the sunbed in the downstairs beauty salon. I was very pleased with the results of my visit; the highlight tone the stylist recommended suited me perfectly, without looking artificial, the cut the senior stylist gave me looked brilliant and the Macademian hair treatment left my hair smelling and feeling beautiful! They even took care to style my hair after the cut in the way I had mentioned I like to have it. I was really impressed with the treatment I got especially when using a voucher, which I always tend to think makes the service worse. I would recommend this hair salon for anyone wanting to have a cut or colour. It’s tucked away location makes sitting in a chair with a half-head of foils less prone to embarrassment from passer-bys peering in and the staff were chatty and friendly and gave me a hair-cut I love!

I left Intro Hair crying… I have rarely ever cried over something so superficial. I definitely do not frequent beauty salons, and practically never visit the hairdressers. I am just glad that I did not go for a haircut, with the luck I was having on the day of visit. I went into Intro Hair, after sitting in Hyde Park and being accosted by a man handing out promo fliers for the place. I decided I fancied having my eyebrows threaded, after having them done in India a few years before, and saw that they did it there… Without an appointment, I had to wait about 30 mins to be seen to despite the place being empty, so I sat and read a magazine. I was then told that the woman who does threading only comes in one day a week, and that she was not in that day. Having waited for so long, when they asked if I wanted to just have them waxed, I sighed but agreed. A friendly, but very young looking blonde took me downstairs to their waxing room, which, next to the fluorescent lighting and S-Club atmosphere of upstairs, seemed incredibly ominous. She was very friendly and asked me what I’d like. I just wanted my eyebrows ‘tidied’, as it were. She was friendly and we chatted as she tore what felt like my entire face off. When she handed me the mirror, and asked if they were ok, my stomach churned. She had pretty much rid me of any form of eyebrow I had once possessed. I looked suprised despite not(at that point) showing any form of emotion. I paid(too much) and ran to my car. I looked surprised for about 3 – 4 weeks, but eventually got used to being the butt of my mates jokes. I know that I had a particularly bad experience at Intro Hair, and i wish I could say something a little more positive about the place. Hopefully somebody else will have something more constructive to say(other than never get your eyebrows waxed)! The staff were friendly, but I will never go back there. The place now scares me.
