Maschio Grooming

I went to get shellac nails at Maschio. Everyone in there was really friendly, however the nails were just so terribly done. I had said I didn’t want much filed, but it got to the point that they were filed s short that it hurt. The colour was patchy, I could see through to the colour of my own nail, and the edges were painted so roughly. As soon as I got home I had to paint over them! Luckily, this was all done at an offer price so I didn’t waste too much money.

I went to Maxine’s yesterday armed with a voucher from Groupon for a Men’s cut and was pleasantly surprised. They do not look posh like the Tony & Guy or the other posh salons in town but who needs a posh looking one. I was greeted with a smile and was politely informed that I would be tended to in a few minutes as the person I was booked in is working with the previous person.
I was asked if I would like a drink (a good selection was on offer including wine) and I asked that I will have one afterwards.
My hairdresser went through what my expectations were and recommended a couple of styles and we went ahead with the idea. Halfway through the lovely receptionist did come and ask if I would like to have a drink (2 surprises 1. she remembered. 2. spot on timing). To me, it reads, you are a valued customer and we will not ignore you. If we offer something, its not for the heck of it. We mean what we say.
Needless to say, the haircut was absolutely brill and I was given a loyalty card as well which gives me 50% discount for the next cut.
Would absolutely recommend this place if you are looking for something new at a not so cut-​throat price and very knowledgeable staff.

Isn’t it so hard to find a one-​stop shop for hair/​nails/​waxing with late evening opening in the City centre. Well my dears, here’s the place.
I had an appointment here last night via KGB deal for a cut and restyle treatment and realised this place is so much than your average Salon.
Originally this salon used to be male only however in recent months it has branched out to Ladies also and expended the treatment portfolio to accommodate.
I arrived just after my 5.30 apt time but the were accommodating nevertheless and sat my down to ‘consult’ almost straight away.
My bags were whipped away for safekeeping (one of my pet hates is having my handbag at my feet in the hairdressers and leaving the place with a bag full of hair!) and a drink ans mag were offered while I enjoyed my appointment.
The hairdresser listened to what I wanted and made suggestions (I liked this, so much better than hairdressers I have been to of old who just presume how you want your hair and take no notice of your upset when it looks no different when they have finished) and onto washing.
How nice is it to have your hair washed, I would have it done everyday could I afford it.
It was a very pleasant hair wash and condition and I felt both relaxed and invigorated after.
The haircut went smoothly and swiftly and then the blow dry the same.
The other staff bustled around during the time i was there, beauticians, barbers and reception staff all were friendly and chatty.
I was impressed with the end result as it was what I was looking for even though i wasn’t initially sure what I’d wanted to start! She’d done a good job.
The salon is busy and the staff interact with the clients.
They have offers on most days for the services– tanning/​grooming/​waxing/​hair and more deals on their website.
I’m definitely a fan and will try them again.
