Tonight I went to Trinitys kitchen. First of all, what a great idea to have all those kind of food in the same place, food truck style! Love it! We went to the Phở Vietnamese restaurant. It was delicious. I had the chicken bun which consist of noodles and vegs. To drink the ice tea was amazing. It was one of the best ice tea ive ever had. And because i dont like fizzy drinks, I ve had a few. Anyway, service was really quick. They give you a kind of remote that will light up when the food is ready. Clever. So, in the end, I loved it. The food brought me back to Vietnam thanks to the lemon grass and the mint in the food! :D

What a treat! I returned to Leeds for the day to catch up with an old friend and we went here for lunch. Lots of different options available so there really is something for everyone! I love the street food vans in particular and I heard that they change frequently which is fantastic. Lots of seating available and we managed to find somewhere even on a busy Friday lunchtime. You can also find somewhere to sit until you are ‘buzzed’ when your food is ready for collection. Overall I was impressed as you wouldn’t have to worry about pleasing all your friends. Food from around the world all under one roof! I plan to return and try the food from Phở as it looked amazing.

I was in Leeds over the weekend to catch the Leeds United — Birmingham City football game and in the evening when it was time to eat, my friend’s daughter, who lives in Leeds, brought us here. Quite an amazing place. It’s basically a food court but with some unique stands and various dishes to choose from, very unlike American food courts with all the chain restaurant/fast food joint choices. There are some permanent eateries and some that aren’t. Some are«street food» because the vans that serve it are parked here and it’s on the second floor of the building! I was told that when they change vans, they take out the big window and hoist a new one up there with a crane. Would love to see that. I got something at the fish and chips place, but that’s another review…

Been here twice and enjoyed it both times. First time was a Saturday which we did struggle to find a seat but the food was good. The second time was a Friday night, we’d gone to watch the football. Had a big screen to watch the game on and plenty of seating available and enjoyed the chicken and chips. It was great to also get free chips as part of buy 2 beers get 1 lot of chips free. Would deffinetly go back and recommend to friends.

I love the concept here. A mall food court that feels more like an indoor congregation of gourmet food trucks. Most of the stuff I got here during my three weeks in Leeds was very good. The burger stand was amazing. The milkshake truck: sinful! Well worth the trip for any taste.

Really enjoyed the amount of choice that the trinity kitchen has, I wasn’t expecting it to be as big as it was. It is defiantly a lunch place than a big meals. The food was good but pricy for the size of the portions. It just didn’t hit the mark for me, don’t get me wrong it was good I just expected more. It has a nice atmosphere about it and would recommend for the experience and like I said there is a lot of choice so good reason to check out more stalls before making a final verdict. But I wasn’t blown away. (Based on 4 visits)

I’ve tried out Phở recently and it is easily my favourite place in here at the moment. It’s the only place that is something relatively new in the city. The service is great(you get a vibrating light-up mobile device to tell you when your food is ready) and the food is really reasonably priced. I got a really big portion for the money I spent! The beer isn’t too bad either. Some Vietnamese stuff I’ve never seen before. The other place are all ‘seen it all before’ and ‘done it all before’ places. Leeds already has great places to try out pizza(in many places you can get one with a great cocktail or beer too), There’s big interactive video game on the wall as well which looks like a really great way to keep groups of kids entertained and keep them away from annoying everyone else! Other than that I can’t really say I’m a big fan, though it’s probably one of the few shopping centre food courts I can stand. It does things differently instead of offering people McDonalds, KFC and Nandos like Meadowhell does. I even seen a guy performing live with his guitar in here when I went in the evening! Yes, and as said before by others there are some fixtures that are pretentious beyond belief. A champagne bar? Co’mon man! If you are going for a street food theme beer would be more suited!

After hitting the boxing day sales and wandering round every shop in Leeds twice I was in desperate need of refuelling! I have heard a lot about Trinity Kitchen but never had chance to pop in myself. I have to say with all the hype I couldn’t help but feel slightly disappointed. There were several different places to choose from but every place we went to there were no staff to be seen. That was apart from Phở and Tortilla. Phở was on my list of places to try but it was packed! So being a big fan of mexican food I chose to go and see what mexican treats were on offer at Tortilla I made the wrong choice. that’s all I have to say. This place shouldn’t even be allowed to class it’s food as Mexican. It is an insult!

Let’s set the scene — I had left my purse at home. And had just a measly £5 note to get myself some tea from Leeds city centre on a cold December eve, to make me feel better after a hefty revision session at the library. Bleak prospects, no? Optimistically I popped up to trinity kitchen as I was passing through, and decided on a Meat is Moyder– a vegetarian hot dog from one of the rotating street stalls calls Dogtown. Oh. My. God. It was so good! Made with spinach, cheese and spices it was fabulous, dolloped with(un)healthy spoonfuls of their homemade relish, however avoiding the sauce labelled«holy f*ck hot sauce», deciding it would probably be a bit too spicy! The bread was freshly made, the relished not overpowering, and the onions cooked perfectly. And, at £5, I was over the moon! Plus, it was served with a friendly smile and a joke about how they even want the veggies to have a cracking hotdog. There’s even a vegan option! It was made from scratch in minutes, and all of their meat is sourced from local traders in London. My only wish is that I could have had some of the fries too(the man in front of me had some, served in a cute little basket). Oh, those fries. I’ll be dreaming about those fries until my next visit, with money this time!

I went in for the first time with my partner and our baby. We had a look round and decided to have a drink and cake at bessies caravan. Partly because i didn’t want a huge meal or anything. Anyway, it did seem nice did bessies however a little pricey for what you get and the fact the cups were paper and the value is given to you on a napkin. It was nice value though, not the best I’d had but still quite nice though. Everywhere was rather cramped and i had trouble getting through with a pram amd crutches but overall it did seem nice. I will try our a few of the other places at a later date but personally I think it is a tad overrated. It is nice though, just quite pricey in places. I was expecting a lot more though with how it was advertised before it opened! Guess i must just have expected too much.

I wasnt expecting much from Trinity Kitchen but I was actually pleasantly surprised. Me and my then boyfriend went because we ALWAYS end up arguing about where to eat and this was a good way for us both to choose somewhere different. I was expecting something more like the food hall in the Arndale Centre(plastic tables, fast food restaurants) but it was really different. As it was Saturday there was music playing and at one point a band were on stage. There’s a nice décor and atmosphere. The atmosphere was actually somewhat reminiscent of the outdoor food areas you get in places like Bangkok and Chiang Rai which I assume they were going for. I really enjoyed the Gorgonzola topped pork burger from the Italian stand Gurmettis and had to come back to try their cheese stuffed beefburger. I would label it the best burger in Leeds but unfortunately they were only there temporarily on loan from lucky Shoreditch.

I confess, I’ve not had a chance to properly explore all the vendors, but I’m a real fan. Where other food courts have a distinctively lack lustre feel, Trinity Kitchen has added spice and life to the world of eating within a shopping centre. Although there are some chain vendors, there are also independents — namely in their rotating street food vans that offer something unique and interesting. The Marvellous Tea Dance stand was simply a work of art, as much as an excellent spot to grab a tea and posh cake. I’ve been to Phở, one of the permanents, a few times now and have really enjoyed the experience.(Get the Vietnamese coffee, squid, and pork and lemon meat balls.) Notes is a pleasant stop off to enjoy too, as last time I went I had a really really good flat white.(The first time I wasn’t so impressed.) There’s a bit of an oddly located cocktail bar,(or is it champange?), that’s tucked away in the corner, and a few others serving fish and chips and ribs that I’ve yet to try, but for now I’ve really enjoyed the experience. There’s even some kind of interactive computer gaming wall, which is the best way to keep kids entertained, that I’ve seen in a shopping centre. I wanted to play! Here’s hoping the other stalls are as reasonably priced as Phở, and that I make it to the burger spot in time before they leave — having *just* read Juliet’s review!

We had an excellent and inexpensive lunch here with friends. The whole thing was under £50 for 4 and while not being premium restaurant food it was delicious. And it came in no time. Before hand we had a bottle of Champagne at the bar sited in the middle of the place. The atmosphere in the place was pretty vibrant on a Sunday afternoon and it felt great wandering from stall to stall to select where we’d eat. Good place for kids as there’s lots going on, but the food we had was great so no complaints at all.

Fairly quick all encompassing review for this new eating space in leeds. To start with, its a food court similar to the many many food courts within shopping centers around the country, except this one has a twist, it invites a number of street food vendors in on monthly rotation to bulk up the food offerings. The interior décor looks fantastic, and the minimalist nature should allow them to update it as trends change. As a space its very vibrant and exciting, with music played throughout and neon colours and interesting exposed wood and metal finishes. Food wise there is a big choice, covering all the usual basis(burgers, mexican, fish and chips etc), with more unusual dishes provided by the rotating street food vendors. In terms of value its all a bit overpriced. Having tried Tortilla(basically BarBurrito) which was pretty skimpy with the portions and Chicago Rib Shack, which was fairly decent in an upmarket fast food sort of way, I cant said I’d recommend the place on the merit of its culinary offers. But then again its better than the majority of food courts around the country and at least offers a variation on the theme.

SOMUCHCHOICE. And yet no choice at all? Yes, there is a vietnamese restaurant(Phở), but everything else is what we already have in the city! Pizza? check. Ribs? Check. Fish’n’chips? Check. Champagne bar? WTF& Check. The place looks great but every one of the outlets I’ve seen is selling ‘street food’ at restaurant prices, and I wonder why you would visit — though obviously people are. Ultimately Trinity Kitchen probably shouldn’t be treat at one entity but as the restaurants that fill it(of which did I mention one is a stupid out of place Champagne bar?), but at the moment, for me, TK is very much a Meh.

Seeing as I find Leeds city centre quite limited for cheap lunches, I was intrigued by the concept of Trinity Kitchen. Based at the top of Trinity, near Boots, it is a mélange of different types of «it» foods such as burritos, ribs and cup cakes. Some of the restaurants are permanent and others change every month. I love the concept of it as I’m a massive street food fan. I tried the Big Apple Hot Dog street vendor and it was really tasty. Deliciously soft bun and a huge frankfurter with a variety of sauces to choose from. Their drinks were limited so we didn’t bother with them and then struggled to find somewhere to sit(not unusual seeing as it is all shiny and new so people want in!) In theory, this place is great because it beats all other shopping centre food courts of old and has placed a unique spin on it. However, it is heaving, there aren’t enough bins, nothing is cheap and the cocktail area is pretentious beyond words. I would go back to try something else as I don’t feel I gave it a fair chance and because the Vietnamese food looks scrummy, but I won’t be rushing back. Try it and see, but don;t expect to be blown away.

Trinity Kitchen is an innovative way of injecting some interest into food in Trinity as well as perhaps offering a way forward for all food court’s situated in shopping malls. Combining 7 permanent cafes, bars and restaurants with a collection of temporary street vendors should mean that there is always something of interest to eat/drink. However, whether the hall in which all of these vendors are located will maintain current levels of shininess and cleanliness which is part of its current appeal is more of an open question. The permanent establishments(Notes, Chicago Rib Shack, 360 Champagne & Cocktails, Phở, Tortilla, PizzaLuxe and Chip & Fish) probably all warrant individual reviews, so I will concentrate on the street vendors here. The best of the bunch was Manjit’s Kitchen which specialises in Indian street food. The bowl of dhal I enjoyed here today was a perfectly judged combination of spice and texture, making a great lunch time snack. Katei & Kim’s Kitchen also hit the right notes. I enjoyed a cleansing bowl of Thai influenced soup which was satisfying as well as wholesome. However, it was the soup’s accompaniment, a toasted rosemary and cheddar scone, that made the dish. I am not sure that I have had a better scone elsewhere. Unfortunately, for me, the cakes made by the Marvellous Tea Dance Co were a little less successful. First, everything(including the shop assistant and the cakes) was covered in glitter and I am far from sure that glitter and cakes is a combination made in heaven. Second, the cake itself(a brownie) was a bit one dimensional and will not inspire me to return anytime soon. I suspect that Tinity Kitchen’s ultimate success will depend on whether it continues to attract high quality street vendors to take up residency here. If they do, it promises to become of Leeds most vibrant culinary venues. If not, it will become just another food court.

Phở(pronounced Fur) is what Leeds has been missing. The Vietnamese pretty much invented street food so this vendor is perfectly situated as first when you come up escalators into Trinity kitchen. Vietnamese food is fresh, fast, healthier than other Asian cuisines and the most flavoursome you’ll get. Recommend: fresh rolls(you’ll never have battered spring rolls again), Saigon beer. My soup was quiet plain, so it’s great when they serve it with a side of chilli, coriander, mint, lemon basil leaves(?)and lime wedge. So you can add more flavour as you wish! Magic!

Came up the escalators to be hit with the amazing smells from all the different vendors. The whole area is just buzzing with colour and vibrance. It is really well thought out and well spaced. The idea of different street food vendors each month is brilliant. I think i love it!
